Read some helpful reviews of Brockport Mini Storage at 1980 Transit Way, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

This place is a scam. My son rented a unit for summer school break, and the unit was broken into, all of his valuables were stolen. The lock was intact, which means someone knew how to break into it from inside, roof, other unit, etc. Never expecting this, when we opened the unit, everything was a mess, walls were torn down, all of his belongings were gone and whatever was left behind was damaged. They stole his TV, guitar, amplifiers, microwave, medicine, hygiene and laundry products, equipment, clothing, everything gone. When calling the place, the only thing the lady kept repeating is “your son signed the lease agreement and chose self-insured” “We are not liable”. Not even a word of apology, no accountability, no shock at all that this happened. Complete lack of empathy and furthermore, as a business, complete failure to protect or support their customers. Just a defensive, arrogant attitude. My son was never explained nor offered any other kind of insurance, plus their staff was absolutely rude when he came to rent the unit. Reading the reviews, it seems many others have experienced this kind of inside robbery plus many other problems. ... Read more

Do not store your things here unless you want mouse droppings over all of your items! I had to trash many belongings because they were covered in mouse poop or coated in a mysterious liquid. A few of my things even had yellow mold on them! On top of that there was a big fat toad hopping around in my unit. The last two times I've used this establishment have been great, but this time... not as great. Personally I wouldn’t recommend it. edit: I did not store food in my unit as the owner has said. I’m disappointed with the response. ... Read more

They do not sell what they advertise. They say their units are “climate controlled” when they should say mostly climate controlled. I had some extra furniture stored in one of these units and a few things were damaged because there were holes in the roof and water was able to get into the unit. Rather than performing regular inspections of all their units, including the roof which should be done a couple times a year, they wait until your belongings are damaged before they acknowledge there’s a problem and you hope they fix it. ... My son's motorcycle was stolen out of his storage unit within the past month and his lock was still intact. They put a new wall in the back of the unit and said they haven't done any work so it's obviously someone who works there. ... Read more

I had a dirt bike stolen from my unit. No forced entry; the lock was intact and had no damage. One would have to assume it was stolen from the inside, as the bike did not evaporate into thin air. Not to mention significant damage to my items due to a water leak several months ago. No cameras. No accountability. Edited to add: the unit is not under my name, but that of my spouse. A police report has been filed. As for the tenants being the only ones with access to locks/keys for said locks, that is irrelevant to this situation being that the lock was not damaged. We were also told there have been no repairs since 2019 which can’t be right; the roof leaked in March of 2022, damaging some of our items. However, there have not been any leaks since. So it must have been repaired. Either way, the lack of support and continued defensiveness from the staff tells me all I need to know. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Brockport Mini Storage - 1980 Transit Way include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 45 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Brockport Mini Storage - 1980 Transit Way start from $75 and can go up to $200 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
