Read some helpful reviews of A-Metro Self Storage at 4773 Western Turnpike, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Steve was great through the entire process of renting a storage unit. He explained various sizes and availability, and basically how the rental policy worked from a payment & timing standpoint. When I came back the next day , he quickly went through the necessary paperwork and walked me down to the unit, took off their lock, displayed the "clean condition" of the unit and directed me to put my lock on. I don't think the whole process took 15 minutes, and there was never a hard sell. I got exactly what I needed! ... Read more

Cons are No security; front gate is always open. One of the doors to the climate controlled building was unlocked most of the time I was there. The code pad was broken and anyone could open the door and go in. They have a junkyard/dump out back, so people are dumping mysterious construction debris with who knows what in it. This is making the place look dumpy. Plowing/salting in the winter wasn’t a priority for a while when I was there. The entrance into Western ave as you are leaving can get slick so that can be dangerous. Seemed this past winter they made it more of a priority to plow/salt early in the morning. Would be nice if someone shoveled the snow in front of the climate controlled building entrances that the plows would leave behind. Pros are Great office staff. Always return calls and are very timely with matters. Very fair on pricing for units. 24 hour access anytime of the day. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at A-Metro Self Storage - 4773 Western Turnpike include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
