My family has used this storage facility off and on for years, I personally have used this facility for almost 2 years recently -- I love the new management here -- Catherine Zimmerman, the site manager, is unbelievably sweet and caring, a joy to work with. This storage unit is safe and clean-- I'm very sorry to be leaving on short notice, but with the times -- I can barely afford rent. I definitely would use this storage again in the future if needed. So great. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Catherine and Alameda Storage. Until next time ? ... Read more

This business has its own Karen who completely savaged my brother in law yesterday when he had pulled over into the exit only door after suffering an emotional breakdown and realizing that he was not fit to drive. She had no ounce of compassion when she saw his tear flushed face, and instead of asking if he was okay, she began to yell at him to leave and called the cops on him. His only offense was that he pulled over because his emotions regarding a recent family catastrophe impeded his ability to drive safely and he didn’t want to risk anyone’s safety. ... Read more

Outstanding service! Family owned and they clearly care about their customers. Being prior military I have used many storage units in the past and this one is by far the cleanest, most well taken care of, and all-around best I have come across. I have no doubt my stuff is secure and the owners are wonderful! This is the only location I will store at in Albuquerque. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Alameda Storage - 6800 Oakland Avenue NE include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking and Credit Cards Accepted. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
