Prepare yourself for completely unreasonable price increases!!! Staff is very rude. Extra Space has nearly TRIPLED their monthly fee in less than a 6 months VERY DISSATISFIED. PS: They'll trick you with the low price in the beginning, in few months they'll jump up the price more than double ... Read more

The staff that works here are very understanding and so nice. If I was able to give them 10 stars I would have, they deserve raises for how much they go above and beyond for individuals renting a storage space. ... Read more

Finally moved the last item from this location. Have been renting here for over 20 years, more than 15 in the same 10X20 unit. Last year I mentioned E/S had raised the rent to $265.00 a month, one year later its $334 a month! So after raising the rates almost 100% in 2 years, E/S just tacked on another $69.00 increase in one year. Advertised web rate is still $220 - $240, I guess they hope you are on auto pay and will not notice the constant increases. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra dollar a month and have them send you a bill. Of course they have done some improvements, they added fire extinguishers, and still have a big beautiful weed filled hole where the old building used to be. Gives the place a nice abandoned factory feel. Nothing I like better than a large corporation coming in and buying independent business, then colluding with other large business to price fix rates. In the matter of a year the rental rates went up 96.2% from the previous business owners rates. Then tear down a landmark building which housed indoor storage and the management office, and leave a gaping hole/mosquito breeding pond in its place. Their excuse for the rates other than "corporate sets the rates", was, its matching other facilities in the area.....corp speak for price fixing. Reviewing rates via storagearea.com sets the average for a 10X20 at $212.00, so the $265.00 they now charge must make sense to someone. I guess they know how much of a pain it is to move, so they have you by the short curlies. Looking at the reviews further, it is evident they have not been looked at by Extra Storage recently. They talk about climate controlled storage at that location, yet they tore that building down. Their web pictures still show the picture of the office...not there. I am still trying to find out what justifies these rates. While the old owners were not perfect, at least they were one site. ... Read more

9/10 reviews are requested to be made before you actually have an experience with them. I and my husband rented a small unit last year which was short lived due too unexpected construction needing to be done. That’s fine an well we understand things happen. However due to the inconvenience we and many others were asked if we could get our belongings out by said due date that we would be refunded a certain amount and here we are a year later and multiple phone calls still with no refund. Manger Tanya was very rude and snarky and unwilling to listen disregarded the fact it has been a year and people who keep saying they will fix the issue as well as being told their was check already expected to be sent out just to find out none of that was true. So frustrating dealing with the unprofessionalism we have to deal with in todays world and people who lack people skills working in a position that holds such power. ... Read more

Joel helped me book the storage space rental initially and he was a huge help! I virtually booked the rental online and he called me within 20 minutes to finish the booking process in a stress-free, and quick manner. He was very helpful and descriptive throughout the whole process and gave me insight into the latest offers and deals they were providing (first month completely free!). After I know longer needed the storage space he canceled it for me on the spot so I know longer would be charged. Overall he was a great help! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Extra Space Storage - 56 6th Street include the following amenities: Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Extra Space Storage - 56 6th Street start from $98 and can go up to $533 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
