Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 301 South 74th Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

DONT RENT HERE. DISREGARD ANY GOOD REVIEW! My unit was flooded, had water sitting, my property had some mold starting to grow. Their customer service/phone calls do not go through to anyone that works for the actual company/or on property. Terrible service and no accountability. Whoever owns and runs this has no responsibility or care for anything other than money. ... Read more

Christina was very helpful as I signed in for my unit. She showed me the loading docks, and toured the whole site with me. She also provided all the information regarding access, business hours, and more. She is also very friendly and communicates very well. Thank you Christina. Thank you Public storage. ... Read more

The manager was very helpful and walked me to my unit. Public storage gave me fair pricing and called me back promptly. Would definitely recommend!! Facility is clean, well lit and it is the appropriate size for my 2 bedroom apartment. We’ll be moving the furniture in tomorrow. ... Read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION VEHICLE WAS VANDALIZED AND NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY OF THIS MATTER. NOR DID THEY EVEN CHECK SO THAT WE WOULD BE CONTACTED OF THIS OCCURRENCE THEY STOLE MY BATTERY , SLASHED THE TIRE, BROKE IGNITION AND OUTSIDE KEY LOCK. RANSACKED THE INSIDE. SO I HAVE CALLED THE POLICE AND WILL HAVE MY VEHICLE TOWED AWAY. WORST DECISION EVER TO RENT HERE IN THIS NASTY HELL HOLE OF AN AREA ... Read more

I am disgusted and have had it with Public Storage! There is never anyone in the office to help me. It's nasty dirty and vagrants living in the hallway. It's the most unsafe place to be and there are broken doors and so much trash that I had to drive through it. The gates are always broken and now that Diane is not there it's horrible. At least she went out of her way to keep the homeless from living in a storage company. If anyone dies in a fire, Public Storage will be solely responsible. Please get help you can keep. I'll be moving out in a few months. ............................................... I hated this 74th St location. It's been filthy dirty for years and the people that hang out there all different hours, are very intimidating to an older woman. Now, since Diane had been here she had it looking very inviting and clean. She also keeps the homeless people out of the building. Thank you for cleaning up Diane! ... Read more

What the hell is going on with this place?! The gates are left open (presumably broken), garbage and trash everywhere, broken doors, and no attendant on site! There was a truck fire in the parking lot a year ago and there is still fire debris in the parking lot. Lock Box storage was great, then public storage bought about two years ago and everything has gone down hill. This one location must bring in tens of thousands of dollars per month but they won’t fix or clean anything. Literally garbage everywhere. I stopped by today for the first time in about six months and was shocked! Fix this problem now. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 301 South 74th Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 450 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 301 South 74th Street start from $56 and can go up to $312 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
