SCAMMERS! Rent is all over the place. Every month the price of my daughter’s storage unit goes up and it’s never the same price month to month and no it has nothing to do with late fees because she pays on time. She has a 10x20x8 that was $189 per month when she first moved in. Next month $186 then $211 for 2 months then $243 for 7 months then $287 then $249. In sept it was $195 now for Oct $271. WHAT GIVES? She is currently out of state and they basically have her by the ball’s until she moves back home. I have a unit with Storage Mart, and some things in life didnt go as planned, as they sometimes dont. I usually am very responsible when it comes to bills, on-time payments, keeping up with good credit and many other things in my personal and professional life. I recently came across hard times due to factors not seen coming my way, and was very quickly up to debt to my ears, and behind a month and counting on my bills. I luckily had some good people at big corporations just like Storage Mart help me out and put trust in me, and genuinely care about my debt and my problems and it was only the fact that they were kind, listened,and cared enough to give me a chance to make payments and possibly lift some of the heavier fees and pay with what I have until I can fully catch up with back to my regular payments and back on my feet, and not be depressed or overwhelmed by the big numbers and knock it down to workable numbers. The person im about to mention could have just brushed me off like nothing, but I heard in her voice that she actually cared and Teresa gave me hope and started making calls to help me out...I just rent a small unit but she did exactly what she said she would do and left notes for others to know what was going on and that she was helping out already. Storage Mart is huge and I feel good knowing that she is looking out for me at a big nationwide company and helping. I hope there are more that follow her level of concern and care in the future. Overpriced and really dirty- so many stink bugs, spiders, etc. I paid for an air conditioned unit yet when I was moving out I could tell the AC couldn’t even keep up. The only reason I got AC was to protect my vinyl records that ended up being damaged from the heat. I’ve never seen a soul inside the management office, and I guess they don’t check emails because I notified them of my move out yet they are still trying to charge me for august! Nice clean facility. I didn’t end up getting a unit, because I am not going to be moving after all, but the prices are good and the staff are knowledgeable. The location is easy to access and the ground are well kept. I will definitely keep StorageMart in mind for my future storage needs. I liked that they were well lit and that made me feel safe, because one storage unit I had before was really dark and I could barely see when I went to pick something up after work in the winter. If i could leave no stars i would. I have rented here for 15years and i will NEVER GIVE THEM ANOTHER MINUTE BEING A CUSTOMER TO THIS FACILITY OR COMPANY. I HAVE HAD A STORAGE UNIT I RENTED FOR $35 a month Dec27 2024. By April my rent was now 104.99 per month and mandatory insurance (which i was never informed of at the time i rented the unit) of 24.97 and all these other charges for a total charges for 2 months of 602.86. I lost my husband Feb 13. And i missed a payment as i had alot going on and they couldnt work with me at all. They stole all my stuff and charged me to sell it at an auction because i couldnt afford 602 when my unit was originally 35 a month. Do NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Avoid this place they made sure that 6 others that I know of to this date along with myself lost their storages. The send emails that are old make it impossible to do anything lock you out of your unit with their locks but yet you can still get in the gate. I have to say that all the personnel that's associated with this storage Mart facility has been wonderful. Unfortunately, my experience was storage Mart has been the worst of any storage facility I have ever used in my 64 years of life. My gate code that I was given didn't work the first two days and there was nobody in the office to fix it. Then when I went out the other day which was the first time during the month of October, I couldn't get in again. Talk about being mad, I was screaming mad, but I didn't scream. I was supposed to have the month of October free and the reason why I couldn't get through the gate was because I hadn't paid. Someone had not entered the facts into a computer correctly. On top of that the manager who is extremely kind and polite does not work on Wednesdays so nothing I could be fixed and of course, two of the times I could not get in the gate happened to be on Wednesday. I am handicapped and do not drive myself right now, so therefore my caregiver had loaded up her car with stuff to put in the storage unit and taking me out there. When I couldn't get in we just had to leave the stuff in her car, which is not fair to her and it's not fair to me. My time is being wasted. Hopefully everything is fixed now and moving forward I won't have any other issues.
