Ron exceeded my expectations today, I went in with a complaint about a price increase. He did get me a reduction in that increase but then we looked at my unit, which had space we were not using. I then rented a smaller space, half the size, moved all my things and everyone is happy. Ron was so helpful, I cannot thank him enough! ... Read more

*UPDATE* The facility manager was able to get me a rate extension for 3 more months. I'll put it back to 5 stars, but hopefully corporate sees this and realizes there's a lot of options for storage facilities in Omaha, and bouncing people's rates around is how you get them to do business elsewhere. *UPDATE* After only being there for 4 months, I get a letter in the mail informing me that my monthly rate is almost doubling from $44/month to $74/month.... Looks like I'll be going somewhere else. That's how you quickly go from 5 stars to 1 star. Great storage facility. This is our second time coming back. It's always an easy process and great price. ... Read more

Storage unit itself is great, but over the course of 2 years my unit went from $89 a month to $220 a month. They slowly raise the rate on you because they know moving everything is a pain. They refuse to do any kind of rate lock, and there is no protection from their climbing rates. Very predatory company, and it should be illegal to increase like that. ... Read more

?????????? Outstanding Service from Ron! I had an amazing experience at Public Storage thanks to Ron! From the moment I walked in, he was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. He took the time to explain all my options, answered every question with patience, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. It’s rare to come across someone so genuinely committed to great customer service. Ron went above and beyond, and I left feeling confident and well taken care of. ????? – Rent Doubled in Less Than a Year, Beware the Pricing Tactics I rented a 10×15 unit (F0013) at this facility in October 2023 for $83/month plus $15 insurance, totaling $98/month. I've always paid on time, with autopay, and no missed or returned payments. In June 2025, I received notice that my rent would increase to $206/month — a 110% increase in under one year. Meanwhile, Public Storage is still advertising the same 10×15 and even larger 11×20 units at this exact location for as low as $76–$120/month. This feels like a deliberate bait-and-switch model: lure customers in with competitive rates, then dramatically raise the price once they’re settled and unlikely to move. Even after submitting a formal written dispute to their Dispute Resolution team, I received no meaningful response — just an automated billing reminder. If you're considering renting here, I strongly recommend reading the BBB reviews for this location before signing anything. Many customers are reporting the same pattern of sudden, extreme rate hikes. I've filed a complaint with the Nebraska Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, and I encourage others who’ve experienced this to do the same at protectthegoodlife.nebraska.gov. Update 6/25/25: I filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau, presenting clear evidence of the drastic rent increase and the discrepancy between what I was charged and what they currently advertise. Public Storage responded with a generic message, offered a short-term discount, and then refused to address the core issue. They continue to charge long-term, on-time customers significantly more than new renters — with no commitment to price stability or fairness. I’ve since forwarded the case to local media and now strongly encourage others to take their business elsewhere. This appears to be a widespread pricing tactic, not an isolated event. I’ve noticed a pattern where negative reviews like mine are quickly buried under generic 5-star praise with scripted language. It’s unfortunate, because real customers deserve honest insight. I’d encourage anyone considering this location to check the BBB complaint history and compare the advertised rates to what long-term tenants are actually charged over time. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 20809 Cumberland Drive include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 330 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 20809 Cumberland Drive start from $27 and can go up to $166 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
