The on-site staff at this location are phenomenal -- truly helpful, professional, and kind. They are the only reason I have stayed as long as I have. Joshua specifically has earned Public Storage their single star. If I could review him personally it would be 100 stars. Unfortunately, the problems start well above them and have gone unresolved for far too long. Despite repeated assurances, I have yet to hear from the regional manager regarding months of ongoing billing issues. I am paying a premium for climate-controlled units, but the climate control does not work -- creating serious concerns for the items I store. The app that is supposed to control gate access does not work and is not even connected to all the gates. Parking enforcement is non-existent, with people frequently blocking others in. There are no garbage cans onsite, so tenants leave trash scattered around the property without a place to throw it away. The design and layout of the facility is the best in Omaha, but it is being mismanaged and allowed to fall into disrepair. Worse, instead of rewarding long-term customers, rates are constantly raised above the prices offered to new tenants. I currently paying close to $1,000/month -- significantly more than when I started. Their increases have now made it a better value for me to rent a commercial building then to continue to rent storage units from Public Storage. I was asked to leave a review as part of my check out, and I am happy to -- but that request should come with a willingness to address these very real concerns. Until upper management becomes responsive and accountable, I cannot recommend Public Storage to anyone looking for reliable, professionally managed storage in Omaha. ... Read more

The online experience was frustrating to say the least. Signing up for the units and getting the reservation was not particularly intuitive. I'm leaving this five-star review for Ron at the actual storage center. We brought our accumulation of roadblocks from the website and met with him at the facility and he was unbelievably easy to deal with, friendly, and professional. He had us in a locker in 5 minutes. I've always said it's the people that make the business, and Ron is your shining star on the ground at this facility. ... Read more

Since day 1 this place was a nightmare. I ended up going with them because they were a block away from the place I was moving-but I will never use them again. First-I called and set up an appointment to view two different sized spaces to see what would fit best. After I made this appointment-I received 4 phone calls trying to get me to set up an appointment. After telling all of them I had one set I got off work early to make it to my appointment only to find nobody was there. When I called the corporate office I was told only people who have units can set appointments despite what I was told. You can imagine the utter frustration of this-considering a total of 5 people confirmed my appointment. I was told it was meant to be seamless and to eliminate the need to wait for a person-well that really failed-considering the next day I went to get my key (it was in the unit with the lock) only to find the key was not the right one for the lock. Thank god there were people in the office-one very helpful gentleman who looked at the lock and key and noticed they were wrong-and a woman who very rudely said “I guess I’ll show her how it works.” Again thankfully he had tried it and told her “no these don’t go together.” I just moved out-and conveniently, they upped my monthly rate the same month I moved out. No email-a supposed letter was sent out-despite requesting everything be digital. Another issue-employees hate this too-to exit the storage facility you have to get out of your car as the keypad is on the wrong side. It’s the basics of a storage unit and they couldn’t even get that right. I have never had something that should be so simple, be so terrible. At least now I know to use someone else going forward. ... Read more

I hate to leave a bad review because when to speaking Ron, he seems like a genuinely nice guy. However, I’ve had nothing but problems since day, one with running a storage unit here. I rented a unit through the public storage app and got a confirmation along with the gate code. When I got to the storage facility, the gate code would not work. Because it was after hours, I called the customer service line and went around and around with somebody obviously not from around here trying to get the gate code to work. Finally, after about 45 minutes on the phone with them the gate code Worked, once. I entered the facility and got to my unit only defined that the unit was not ready to be moved into. No lock was on the unit and there was no way for me to put my own lock on it. So I tried to leave the facility only to find that the gate code now would not let me out. Fortunately, somebody was coming in at the same time and was nice enough to put their coat in so that I could get out. As I needed a unit right away, I ended up renting another one from another place and canceled this storage unit, even though I had paid for three months in advance. well, of course three months later, I start getting emails and texts from public storage that I owe them more money. I called and left several messages for Ron and never heard anything back. Finally, at one point Ron did call me back we had a nice conversation. I explained to him what happened told him that if possible I’d love to be refunded the three months but at the very least, I wanted to stop receiving notifications that I owed more money for a storage unit that I don’t even have. Needless to say, neither one of those things happened. I never got a refund for the three months that I never used, and I continue to get notifications that I owed public storage more money, and they were going to sell the contents of my storage unit. Now, several months later, I’m getting notifications from a collection agency that wants more money. I’ve never had anyone answer the phone at the storage unit, even though I’ve called repeatedly during business hours, and even though I’ve left several messages, I’ve only ever gotten the one call from Ron and nothing happened after that phone call. I would advise never ever using this facility. Ron, if you happen to see this review, I hope that you will do the right thing and contact me and let me know that this entire thing is taken care of finally! ... Read more

I wouldn’t recommend renting here at all. My unit was broken into and they took everything easily 12 grand worth of stuff, even though it’s right next to a camera—but, of course, the camera doesn’t work. In fact, none of the cameras on the second floor work, and only a few on the first floor do. What’s worse is that I wasn’t even told about the break-in by the staff. Another renter here was the one who let me know, and he said he told the employees, but they never bothered to tell me. It’s clear they don’t care. I’ve been trying to get in touch with the property for two days now, and no one answers the phone or returns my voicemails. The office is always dark, and it seems like no one works here. If you’re thinking about renting here, don’t. It’s not safe, and the management doesn’t care. ... Read more

Don't just walk, RUN away from this place. They lure you in with a really great rate and then jack up the price over and over and over knowing that it's a hassle to move. And then when you do move out they turn off access before the end of the last day so you can't finish moving or cleaning. Place looks nice but there is never anybody there to actually provide service, no way to message, and the manager never actually answers his phone. Go just a little bit down the street where the manager is actually in the office five days a week -- for less money. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 18910 Bedford Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 348 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 18910 Bedford Avenue start from $39 and can go up to $290 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
