We have used Affordable Self Storage since October of 2021 when we PCS'd from Vandenberg in California to Malmstrom here in Montana. The management here is very helpful and available for whatever needs you. Close proximity to base, if that is a factor for you. Price is decent ($85/mo right now with military discount). Plenty of options for small, medium, and larger storage units. Definitely would recommend if you need storage and live on-base or on the east side of Great Falls. ... Read more

I have enjoyed storing my items here so much! They were very accommodating when I called in the dead of winter for a storage unit, and Cathy has been so wonderful to work with. Would recommend to any one looking for a clean, affordable, and safe storage company. Thanks so much !!! ... Read more

Affordable Self Storage in Great Falls is the best storage facility and the most reasonably priced. They great to work with as well. Access to the units is simple and there is ample room for 26 foot trucks. The only downside is their units get snapped up almost as soon as they are emptied. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Affordable Self Storage - 5906 North 2nd Avenue include the following amenities: 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate and Parking. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
