Read some helpful reviews of Flathead Lake Storage at 6470 Montana Hwy 35, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Very unprofessional and poorly run storage unit. The gates were not working for multiple weeks over the summer and I along with many other people were getting locked out and not able to access their belongings. I tried calling them over 10 times and it would just ring until voicemail and no one would ever get back to me. There is never staff on site to help or assist when there are issues. I have a card on file for recurring billing and I get an email saying there is an issue with my card and that I can pay through a link. When I click on the link it doesn't even work it says "this site can't be reached" and now I have late fees tacked on when their links don't even work. They also advertise the price of the unit and then make you buy your own insurance so you end up paying more than advertised. All around if you're looking for a storage unit this is definitely not the place. ... Read more

I rented a storage unit based on the sizes on their website. The size on the website did not match the actual size of the unit. So I could not use the unit. I tried calling the office numerous time but could not ever get anyone to answer. I sent emails and text. I finally got an email stating that my unit had been cancelled but nothing about a refund. I would not recommend this storage unit. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Flathead Lake Storage - 6470 Montana Hwy 35 include the following amenities: 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Kiosk Available, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 375 to 437 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
