Storage is great and the prices aren’t bad. If they aren’t in office they give their home phone and will take a payment over the phone. One day I had a bit of an emergency and they helped right away even though it was after hours on a day they were closed. They do work with you. ... Read more

DO NOT USE AUSTIN'S SAFE STORAGE. Initially, this was a clean, convenient and affordable storage facility to use. We made our payments in a timely manner over the phone, and didn't have a problem. Then, we started having an issue when we wanted to get our belongings out of storage. The father HAD to be there in order for us to get into our unit because the lock was changed without us knowing. Then, when we needed to get a uhaul to get our things out of storage, the father was the only one who could rent out the uhaul we needed. He left the facility for the day, without letting us know, after he said he would be there at a certain time. This caused my husband to make a blank trip. Then when we finally were able to get our things moved out, we were told that we couldn't receive our deposit back because the unit was "dirty". The next night, my husband swept out the unit... ALL 3 leaves and cob webs. He took pictures of the clean unit and let them know the following day that the unit was clean so that we could recieve our deposit. Three weeks later, we called to find out when we should expect the return of our deposit. The daughter got loud and emotional for no reason, and said that I called her a liar, all because the money was not refunded to a card that belonged to me or my husband. She said she emailed my husband a receipt... she did not. The card and email she used belonged to a relative who paid on the account. Although they should have confirmed the card for the refund, that wasn't my main issue. The problem is how disrespectful the daughter was. This was also not the first time she had gotten irate with us as customers. This was the 3rd time. The father ended up getting on the phone and trying to smooth things over, but I have huge problem with bad customer service, and this place has TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. When you're paying for a service, you don't want to feel like you're dealing with someone who is RUDE and completely mentally and emotionally UNSTABLE. The daughter needs some serious help. According to the father, the daughter quit because of me calling to ask which card the money went back to. I hope she did quit so she can have time for prayer and a psyche eval. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Austin-s Safe Storage - 1089 US 49 include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Enclosed, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
