While we’ve been going through a devastating event with our home, Stephanie, the relocation and records specialist at Fayard Moving and Storage, has been an absolute angel. From our first phone call to her visit to assess our needs, she offered kindness, professionalism, and heartfelt care. She coordinated every detail flawlessly and provided steady reassurance throughout a very emotional time. Our first team, Randy, Marlon, Lataja, Tonja, and Dynell, packed our home quickly, efficiently, and with so much love and respect. Some of them were even facing hardships of their own, including loss and damage to their own homes, yet they still showed up with smiles, compassion, and dedication. I truly felt like I had family helping to pack my things. I never once worried during the process. I was able to sit at my desk and continue working, completely confident that everything was being handled with care. Then came the incredible team of movers, James, Landry, Zack, and Randy, who loaded and unloaded our boxes and furniture with such professionalism and empathy. Somehow, they seemed to understand how emotional and even heart-wrenching this process was for us. Their patience, gentleness, and quiet understanding brought comfort on a day that could have been overwhelming. This was the initial move of the majority of our belongings. A few weeks later, we had the pleasure of working with Stephanie again when she returned to assess how many boxes and movers would be needed to carefully pack and move my personal library of books into an additional storage unit. We had hoped repairs could be made without moving the library, but unfortunately, that wasn’t possible. Once again, the packing and moving crew of Kinny, Randy, and Landry were amazing, thoughtful, kind, and meticulous. The folks at Fayard’s have taken care of us like family, and at this point, I truly feel like they are a part of our family. I’m looking forward to the day I can call Stephanie and her crews again, not to move out, but to bring my things back home. ?? Note: Photo attached to show the great details used in wrapping and protecting our furniture! I wish I would have taken more photos to show the incredible attention to detail each box was packed. ... I was able to leave my things here (worry free)while going on deployment. It was nice but you could go to ANY storage facility and get the same thing there. ***also any other storage facility allows you to get your things whenever. You also don’t need to fill out anything when moving your things.***I’m in the middle of moving and my movers came to move my things I lost my key for a moment talked to a woman named Mary and she told me “There’s there’s nothing I can do to help you. I have nobody here with me.” I said “ok” I found my key opened it, we moved majority of my things. I came back to the unit hours later and lost my key again, called her and asked the same thing she said she can’t do that. It was around 4:40pm. I said “well this really might take me a while to find can I get a 24?” (A 24 is a 24 hour pass they put into their system that allows a person to come in anytime of the night and get their things.) Mary automatically told me “I’m afraid you’re going to do something to your unit, I think you’re going to break it open not using your key. so I’m going to give you until 11pm, if you need more time just call back up here.” I said “I wasn’t even thinking that I need time to find the key and I know yall close at 6pm, how will I even be able to call?” She gave me her number and said “I will see if I can do it at home.” (by the way I knew she was lying, if I would’ve called her she would’ve faked like she couldn’t get into her system to give me access) I’ve had a 24 hour before so I know you can do it.” I tried to explain to the ding bat that I’m in the military and I can’t risk “ destruction of property and vandalism” being on my record but she still said I was going to do damage the property. (I found my key at 6:00pm.) Her behavior was so disgusting and this is the first time in 24 years that someone has told me they think I will Commit a crime for no reason. This was 100% fueled by racism or she has an IQ of 5 and I think it’s a mixture of both. I called the next day (which is today) to speak to the manager and to see if they resolved my payment dispute (they charged me a late fee for no reason). To my surprise Mary got on the phone, I didn’t even waste my time complaining to her about her unintelligent remarks. If I wouldve known this I would’ve taken my stuff to a cheaper place with more storage. ... Read more

Rude older white haired man. I've been a customer for about 7 or 8 years. I walked in today to drop some stuff off in my locker. I forgot where the entrance was and asked him. He looked at me and said "we don't know who you are". He didn't ask if I needed help, welcome me inside, or smile. He was rude and seemed to He having a bad day. That's no way to treat a longterm customer. ... Read more

Called to see availability and pricing. Was told there's nothing available today; that's fine. I started asking what sizes they had and what the prices were and was told "I just said we don't have anything available" - woman at the desk is very rude. Edit: Mary followed up and discussed options. Customer service has been excellent since that initial point of contact. Quality of facilities are fantastic. Signed a unit today. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at John Fayard Self Storage - 10213 Lorraine Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
