We were put on a wait list and were supposed to be notified when available. We were never notified and told we were never. I checked with them constantly and we went from five to one the never on the list. This is poor business practice and if this is how they deal with costumers this place shouldn’t get business. ... Awful, awful service. We arrived about 10 minutes past our booking time of 10 AM to pick up a UHaul truck. When we walked in, the lady could be heard talking on the phone behind a wall. We waited about 15 minutes before she came out to acknowledge we were there. She had an attitude from the start, as if we were bothering her. I gave her my information and she turned her back to me and went to another computer across the room, with her back still to me. After another 15 minutes, I asked if I could add another day to the truck and asked about the appliance dolly and the pads I had reserved with the truck. She informed me that she did not have the dolly or the pads. I asked if she knew who I could complain to about that. She then stated "if you are going to be rude, I do not have to rent to you and you can leave." I was speaking in a direct tone of voice, but my voice was normal and I never said any thing derogatory or nasty. I told her that I thought she was the one being rude, and that I needed to know if I was paying for services that I was not receiving. She then stated that she had taken the pads and the dolly off my order and she called a UHaul operator about adding my additional day. I finally was given my contract to sign and left the store. As I was walking out I noticed an older man walking toward his truck. He was the same man who had asked the lady a question about another employee while I was waiting for my contract. I asked if he was the owner and he said he was. I informed him of my experience with the lady. All he did was blame UHaul central booking and said that they do not have any control of what UHaul does and that a lot of people come in and get angry because their reservation is not right. Addendum: I stopped at our planned drop off location in Hattiesburg, MS for packing paper and boxes. I related my experience with the pickup to the person running the Hattiesburg store. He told me that when he gets a reservation that he goes the extra step to see if additional equipment and supplies have been reserved. From now on, I will not book my reservation online. That is because the central reservation system changed my pickup to a location that did not have all parts of my order, and I was treated very rudely. I was not given any say in whether it was okay with me to accept the change. We drove a much longer distance to pick up a truck only to be treated very badly and left without the equipment we needed for our move. We were directed to another location for the appliance dolly but when we arrived, that location did not have an appliance dolly either. This is no way to run a business. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Dedeaux Mini Warehouses - 11451 Canal Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 360 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Dedeaux Mini Warehouses - 11451 Canal Road start from $60 and can go up to $190 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
