I have been to the facility several times and I can honestly say the customer service couldn't have been any better. The security measures are extreme which makes storing something there more comforting. If you want to store your items in a safe place under good management and not have to worry about it, this is the place for you... ... Read more

Negative reviews you might see here are invalid. And I am independent and have nothing to do with this facility. Kept my things in storage for 6 months and there could not possibly be a better person to deal with than Bob. Polite, honest, as straight up as can be and even helped me move a few things in when I had a bad back. All of my contents were safe, nothing was damaged. This is the review you need to read. If there is a question then go meet Bob and go on your own gut instinct. ... Read more

I’d do no stars if possible- I recently moved some stuff into my storage unit that already had some stuff in it. Turns out my unit has a leak or isn’t sealed, I’m not sure all I know is a majority of my furniture has mold now.. im not sure if that’s normal but I’ve never had this happen at any other storage unit location. So I threw some stuff away in the dumpster, left a couch and two beds sets- mattresses and box springs (that were picked up by another family to clean and use). But the morning after the move- I have several text messages saying they’re pressing charges and I had to pay to use the dumpster. These people actually pull everything out of the dumpster! And tell me I have to come get it if I don’t want to go to jail. Keep in mind- I do pay $90 a month for a leaky storage unit, I thought i could use the dumpster, especially considering my stuff wouldn’t had been ruined had I used the location I have before. I’m 3 hours from Brookhaven- I call the owner, who is extremely rude to me, and acts like I’m lying about being out of town. I have to find someone to pick all these things up for me couch and mattresses that were left (including the stuff in the dumpster like a few folders, a comforter set, little things that were not hurting the dumpster!) and were bought to another storage unit where the owner said to sit it by the road- and they were picked up by someone who needed it and had the time to clean it within the hour. Just a terrible experience, I would have no problem had I been asked without everyone being so rude, and I would have had no reason to throw this stuff away since they were good beds, and a good couch. if these units didn’t leak. ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Backyard Self Storage - 650 NE Industrial Park Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
