Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 5801 Wilson Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

What a racket at this location on Wilson Ave. in St. Louis. I moved stuff in from out of state due to a sick parent in January 2025. The rate was $79 a month for a 10x15 unit. In June of 2025 the price went to $104 a month. In December of 2025 my unit increased to $134 a month. So I made the decision that I was going to empty my unit and be done with Public Storage, the problem is the elevator closest to my unit, which is on the 3rd floor, is frequently out of order making it increasingly difficult and inconvenient to move my belongings out. Two out of the last three times I had someone with me to help get belongings out, the elevator was out of order. The closest elevator then is at another entrance and I literally have to bring belongings across the entire building if I want to move them. I can't get out of this location and Public Storage quick enough!!! My price almost doubled in less than a year and it's difficult to get my stuff out. Also, EVERY time I go to the office to discuss my concerns, it is locked and no one is working. This has been a horrible experience and I regret choosing this company and location. ... Read more

Building B has never been climate controlled and we were 100% told all units were climate controlled before we moved. Over the span of six months we kept getting excuse after excuse and we finally stopped asking. Also, Read the fine print on introductory pricing! We went from $210 for two units to $420 after twelve months. UPDATE: after purchasing a house and moving we found multiple bags and boxes with mouse/rat chew holes in them including a $300 scuba pro dive bag. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS SITE! ... Read more

I don't ?? many reviews but when I have outstanding service I find myself compelled to write. If you find yourself wanting/needing to rent a storage unit then Jessie with Public Storage @ 5801 Wilson Ave. St. Louis, MO. is your end all be all go to. Jessie is well versed, fluent, informed, can articulate, problem solver, and at the end of the day AN ASSET TO PUBLIC STORAGE !!! I equate finding a storage unit to finding a cell phone plan. Confusing, Jessie will alleviate this.. Public Storage should be ?? Jessis is top DAWG. Any storage company would ?? to have Jessie in their outfit hands down .Jamie Weidenhamer- ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 5801 Wilson Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 5801 Wilson Avenue start from $37 and can go up to $280 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
