Read some helpful reviews of A1 South Self Storage at 2915 South National Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I've had a unit here for almost 10 years for my business. I recently had a staffing change and lost the gate code and the key for my lock. I called up and was able to come over and get my lock cut and a new lock put on for only $32. The gentleman even swept out the storage unit for me and put a new rope on the door to make sure it was still in great shape. He went above and beyond to help me out and I would highly recommend renting here. ... Read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The Gentleman named Steve was completely rude, unprofessional, and airagant. I will definitely tell everyone in my marketing network to never ever use A1 South Self Storage. With an attitude and a personality like his how do you even stay in business. ... Read more

My storage unit was falling apart. The walls where plywood and where sinking in. They raised the price for the smaller unit and I got all my stuff out. Speaking to staff is difficult because they are hardly in the office. The really need to hire people to be in the office. They are nice people though. ... Read more

I have rented a storage unit for almost four years. I have not had any problems with the customer service level or bugs. The lot is always clean and well maintained. For the location and price it is worth it. ... Read more

This place is absolutely disgusting. when I initially rented this place, they wouldn't let me look at the unit before purchasing it. I still rented a small unit for 11 months which meant my 12 month was free. I started my contract on July 20. Getting to my unit the entire floor was covered in crickets. And I'm not kidding. The ENTIRETY of the floor could not be seen. Because the units are only separated by plywood, bug bombing did nothing as the bomb drifted into the other units. The crickets atteacted spiders. I put my things in my unit and a month later I c and back and every surface was covered with webs and crickets. Despite that I continued my service with them. I tried to go get my last boxes out of my unit yesterday and the man on the phone immediately was rude. I asked why my code wasn't working and he said I hadn't paid the month. Since I knew I paid on July 20 of last year for 12 months I said I wasn't sure if maybe he had the wrong account. The man on the phone was incredibly rude saying I was lying about not getting the letter that said I needed to pay for my unit and that I was not allowed in to get my boxes. I've worked customer service and there is no way that you should ever talk to a very confused customer in such a rude manner. After a 20 minute conversation and me ending in tears with the accusatory and hateful manner, he allowed my boyfriend to get my remaining boxes. When my boyfriend entered the office the man without any prompting said to his face, "you are a liar." I cannot believe the level of professionalism this business lacks and the cleanliness is despicable. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at A1 South Self Storage - 2915 South National Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate and Parking. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
