Read some helpful reviews of Sun Valley Mini Storage at 16617 US-71 BUS, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I give this place one star because you have to click at least one. They do NOT deserve 1.We had our storage unit broken into twice! The first time it looked like someone tried to cut our lock off but didn’t gain entry yet we had stuff missing that cannot be replaced! Nothing we could prove as the lock wasn’t completely cut and they have 0 security cameras where we were (the last at the bottom of the hill)I read other’s concerns and had similar issues and felt it was an employee getting in without the renter knowing.I didn’t want to believe so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. We put 2 locks on our unit. They said they asked the sherif to patrol frequently as they were having issues. We went to our unit one evening and didn’t get out until dark and someone was watching when we drove out. They took down our license plate (not 1 call from them asking if we had been there or to alert us someone was there at our unit after dark. The sherif came to our house, left his card with a note to call the sheriff’s office. I called and was asked if I was at Sun Valley Mini Storage on the date we had been there in a black sedan. I said yes and he wanted to know why. I had to explain we had a storage unit there and we were putting stuff in it. The final straw for this place was when I drove by and there were 2 locks on our unit and neither one was ours. This was after hours. I emailed them requesting an explanation and called and left a voicemail! No one replied to either. When I went in when they opened it was explained to me our unit had been “compromised” and they tried to notify us but there wasn’t any answer. I called them out as they could have left a voicemail! I asked why no response and was told the didn’t know where the either one went. They gave us a couple months free rent for our troubles Said they had 13 units broken into on the same day! We moved out without telling them and not one phone call to see if we moved out! Lies and deceit do not rent from this place! ... Read more

I have been renting a unit from them for over a year. I just had the second break into my unit. So I'm done here. I had one of their good locks on it, that didn't help. The lach that was on my unit was able to be cut with bolt cutters so they could get my lock off. They have very little security cameras and no after hour number to call. I'm hoping for a refund since the month just started. This review may have a second part. ... Read more

Do NOT use this storage company! 1st off there drive to the unit is AWEFUL! If you have one of the lower units it will flood. They can prorate you moving in but "there system" will not allow you to prorate moving out even if its only a couple days. I set my unit up on auto pay twice through there office. Once in person and once over the phone when I realized they hadn't debited payment from my account. Then I go down to my unit and it has a blue lock on it! No one had made contact with me about it being past due and since it was SUPPOSED to be on auto pay I was livid that they were going to auction my stuff off had I not went there to get something and realized it was locked. It hurts me to have to leave this review because I have used them before and had no issues. The new management is AWEFUL. I have several friends and family that have also used them for years that are now looking for a new storage company. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 600 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Sun Valley Mini Storage - 16617 US-71 BUS start from $35 and can go up to $131 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
