I've rented from this Public Storage in the past, and needed more storage space so I went back to this location because I always have a good experience. The property manager, Bobbie, goes above and beyond to help if a problem arises. I had trouble opening a door, and she responded immediately. She had to walk all the way down to my unit to help. She pushed a cart full of tools in the hot sun. Come on Public Storage, get her a golf cart or some sort of transportation to get around the property. I felt sorry for her and offered to give her a ride, but she politely refused and pushed the cart back across the property. Thanks again Bobbie for your help. ... Read more

They increase your rate by at least 30% every few months. In less than a year my rates were double and I never had a late payment or anything. A lot of times the gates don't work so you either can't get in or can't get out. Then they yell at you for leaving past 9 o'clock when you've been trying to leave for half an hour, well before nine. My unit used to flood In the pothole outside of my unit was so big that I couldn't even get into my unit sometimes. When I would drive through it the water came up to the bottom of my car door and the hole was bigger than my car. They did fix that hole but there are other areas that are not good. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone. Storage Mart never raised my rates ever but that seems to be their norm. I've seen people moving out who said that their rates have tripled and they just can't afford it anymore. They say that it's the going rate in the area but that's not true. They just know that once you're in there you won't leave unless you have absolutely no choice. Sometimes when they raise the rent it isn't reflected in the app so I pay the old amount without knowing it increased and then get late fees. Just don't rent here. ... Read more

I recommend Public Storage off Hickman Mills Rd. in South Kansas City to anyone that has storage needs. The property is slightly secluded, yet very accessible, well monitored and safe. Ms. Becky handles business in the office and often circulates the grounds... She greeted me with a smile as we crossed paths today. Saying, "Hello! How are you?"... I replied & also asked her a few questions about billing... She stopped what she was doing and invited me to come into the office with her, looked up my account, made a few clicks on her computer & surprised me with a 3 month specail... A rate that would make a great difference through this holiday season. I'm so very grateful for Ms. Becky & the peace of mind, knowing that my belongings are kept safe in Public Storage. ... Ms. Bobby helped me to get a great deal for my needs. She is very knowledgeable about the business and what can fit my budget. Ms. Bobby helped me to understand the contract and made me feel very confident about my options. The business is 100% secure and has surveillance cameras and the alarm will go off in case someone breaks in. I feel very comfortable to do business with this company due to the outstanding service I was provided with by Ms. Bobby. I really love coming to this friendly business. I will definitely suggest this business to my friends and my family members. It really takes only one smart customer service employee to bring more customers to the business, and Ms. Bobby was there for me. Thank you so much Ms. Bobby. I love what you do. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 5601 East 112th Terrace include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 5601 East 112th Terrace start from $33 and can go up to $230 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
