This is by far the best and well run storage location in Joplin. An important advantage often overlooked compared with alternatives is the well drained concrete area that prevents dust and water getting into the storage units. We needed a large climate controlled storage unit to take all our household furniture and delicate items for two months over the Christmas period while we moved and waited to refurb our new home in Joplin. We were very impressed with owner Mike and his team, and very pleased with the pricing and terms. Security is first rate too. We given a padlock and security codes for gate and storage building access. We needed a few extra days when our house wasn’t quite ready and Mike gave us a weekend extension at no charge. We won’t use anyone else and highly recommend this location. ... Read more

Been a customer here for a few years now, sharing my experience. Starting with the staff, you will find the most courteous workers here. Front office offers the usual necessities including boxes and packing materials and locks. Most importantly everything is fairly priced complimentary coffee and tea is also available. . The units themselves are extremely well maintained and the entire facility is well secured including video surveillance and motion detection. Access for customers is 24/7 via front gate. Most importantly is pricing. Be sure to compare so you can also see you get more than a great value here. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Countryside Self Storage - 1813 West 20th Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
