I always got behind but always got it caught back up for 2 1/2 yrs. The last year they admitted to cutting my lock off twice. I told them I didn't think it was legal to do that. That it had to be a third party to cut it off. After you have already lost your unit. They cut mine off two different times stating the one time was because they had to get a picture of my unit. No there is no reason not like they was going to get insurance for me not. Also had silver coins missing I know who and why. Told them I would like to see who cut my lock off. After wards went by unit they faced the camera away from my unit that was facing right at my unit. ... Read more

Overall, good experience. However, when I rented my unit over the phone, I rented a small unit as I really didn't need much space, $50 a month. When I arrived on Sunday afternoon after a very long weekend of moving, there was a lock already on my unit. I had to contact the person in charge. They did take the time to come out to help. Turns out, the unit was already rented. The only available unit was a large 12x20. I'm sitting there with a fully loaded uhaul and a loaded down car so I accepted it. $120 a month. I was never offered any type of discount for their screw-up or offered another smaller unit once one became available as I was assured I would be. Not trying to get something for nothing, but I really feel some type of discount should have been offered. For the 9 months I utilized the unit, I spent $1080 when I should have spent $450. That extra $630 that I ended up paying for their screw up could have gone a long way in my pocket ... Read more

When I called to reserve a unit a lady picked up the phone and was helpful in getting me setup with a unit but when I went to occupy the unit it had a lock on it. So I called and they were not sure why it had a lock or what other units that size were available so we said forget it. We asked for a refund and went elsewhere. We got our refund very quickly there after. I do not recommend this facility unit they get their stuff together. ... Read more

5/2022 Edit: The owner of the storage facility contacted me after writing the review and refunded my extra payments. Original Review: I originally rented from Norb, who built the storage facility. Norb was excellent to work with and was very professional and courteous. After several months of renting with Norb, he sold the complex. The new owners have not provided the same treatment. I called several days early to notify of move out. The lady on the phone was courteous and mentioned to simply let her know after I’ve moved out and she will close out my account and reimburse for the extra month that I had paid for. After moving out, I spoke with her on 3 occasions and continue to get excuses on why my additional payments have not reimbursed. If you’re thinking of renting from this establishment, I would reconsider since they are hard to work with and will not get your deposit or pre-paid months rent reimbursed back to you. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at I70-Hwy 54 Storage - 4200 Mac Road include the following amenities: 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Enclosed, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
