Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 715 SW Highway 7, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I got a large unit (10×30) 4 months ago at the Blue Springs location. This month with no notice or explanation my bill went up about 33% or $104. My unit was not an introductory offer, the price was the real price!! I called to find out whats going on with this and they basically said they raised it BECAUSE THEY CAN, based on section 2, 2.2 of the contract, in legal terms and of course wasnt discussed or VERBALLY disclosed up front!! This is not ethical business practice! This is predatory in my opinion! Im sure they assumed that i wouldnt pay or would be stuck there since its the dead of winter and its a very large unit! Now i have to shop for a BETTER place for my storage and pay more money and get more movers and another moving truck and do this all again in freezing temperatures! Thanks for NOTHING PUBLIC STORAGE! YOU ARE UNBELIEVABLE!! FYI: DONT DO AUTO PAY I PROBABLY WOULDNT HAVE CAUGHT THIS SO QUICKLY IF I HAD, OR IT MAY HAVE CAUSED A PROBLEM WITH MY ACCOUNT OR BUDGETING!! *I also got a smaller unit in insependence mo which i will review separately. ... I want to say that Jennifer was so helpful showing me around today! She was very patient while I was trying to figure out what size unit will fit my family's needs. I have never rented a storage unit before so you know I had lots of questions, she answered them all! Thank you very much!! ... Read more

I had to move stuff last minute today, so I reserved a unit and Chris was so helpful and proactive and called to check in. I was running behind and Chris was so patient and stayed past close to help make sure I got a unit tonight. Answered all my questions and gave clear information. Very grateful ... Read more

EDIT UPDATE: just received another call from the lovely manager, Jennifer. She was not calling to inform me she did indeed cancel my unit.. oh no, she was calling to let me know she hadn't received payment. Goodness, I don't know how Jennifer has a job at this point. After recapping the last 6 + months, she responded, "Oh, I remember now.. Blah blah blah.. I manage over 700 units. " I stopped her there to let her know I didn't care. Because she is unable to actually do her job, they have charged me $956. I don't care how many units she is "responsible" for. Her inability to do her job has cost me nearly a $1,000. She responded saying she would need to call her boss.. like cool story YOU said you were doing that a month ago. 1 more phone call requesting money, and I'm taking them to small claims court. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. If the actual owner is reading this, fire Jennifer because she is worthless and will get you sued. EDIT: I called this week (3/3/2025) and left my last message. 2 hours after I called I had a missed call from Public Storage. I was excited, but you guessed it they were calling about the payment that was denied. 3/4 I got another call from Jennifer asking for $$. The simple fact that she was not "aware" of any messages I left, even the one i left less than 2 hours before she called on Monday, she also claimed she didn't remember ever speaking to me in person is pretty pathetic. She became rude once I informed her of everything below. She said "I'll look into it now". Before I could respond she hung up. It's now 3/7 after 4pm and still no word back from Jennifer. If I could rate this location in the negatives, I would rate them -100 stars. I have been trying for several months, since November 2024, to cancel my unit. I called and left 6 messages asking the property manager to call me back to cancel my unit. I spoke to a lady claiming to be the property manager and she ensured me my unit was canceled, however, I was charged for 2 more months and just received another notice for payment. It does not matter how many times you call and leave messages they NEVER get back to you and will continue to charge you. I had that unit for over 5+ years but once they increased the price of the units, when the company changed and without notice, from $169 a month to $239 I was out.. or so I thought. Do not do business with this storage company. They are NEVER there, they will NOT return calls, and they refuse to speak with paying customers. Worst experience. Lawyers are involved and both the bank and lawyers have all recorded messages I have left. I also had to provide cellphone records showing my calls, the length of each phone call I made, and that no one has ever called me back. They are scamming or possibly laundering $. Will provide another review once everything is said and done ... Read more

So far, horrible. Traveled 3 hours with a big enclosed trailer load and got there and the 20x8 unit I was supposed to have was a 5x8, so needless to say, I was pissed. Nobody was on site and I've been calling the office multiple times for 4 days with no answer or call back from my messages, and my calls to the home office have only netted me a setup call with the manager of the site that naturally didn't happen either. It shouldn't be this hard to get this resolved. And, there automated opening system using the app doesn't work which made it much more fun having to put in that long code over and over again. Will definitely never use this site again. ... Read more

Jennifer is a GEM, very knowledgeable, helpful and informative. I just got the storage unit in January and was charged a different amount EACH month afterwards. I’ve reached out to an attorney to see if they have broken any laws. Even if they have not, I will be moving out before the next payment date. I’m pretty sure they have, though. ... Read more

EDIT: After about 6 months, they dramatically raise the cost of your unit - so don't rent here long term. There are way cheaper units nearby. The office is rarely staffed, so make sure you have the app and have access yourself. The AC units don't feel like they are climate controlled, but didn't have any issues with anything getting damaged. Easy to get to, as well as load/unload. Reasonable pricing. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 715 SW Highway 7 include the following amenities: Indoor, 24 hour access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Parking, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 150 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 715 SW Highway 7 start from $24 and can go up to $224 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
