I had a great experience at Midwest. The facility is clean, well lit and secure. Moving items was easy with a drive in bay and plenty of carts. The staff onsite during the day always greeted me and offered assistance, and showed me how everything works when I moved in. I felt safe being in the facility after hours and confident that my items were safe. The customer service is extraordinary. I've used other facilities that had zero security, no carts, no staff onsite, and no customer service. This is the place to go for indoor storage. Oh, and it's family owned and they care. ... Incredibly easy move in/out and kind staff. Fully online move-in. My access code was ready within the hour. I registered online after business hours and was able to access my storage facility within the hour with the code I created online. When I arrived there were multiple moving carts available as well as a garage for loading and unloading. Very clean facility. Highly recommend. ... Read more

World class service. Great location. Really good price points. Right off 52 on 55. I used my unit weekly and the place was always clean. Nothing says "F" around and find out like walking into a lobby with a monitor with 30 separate camera views of the facility. Zero regrets folks. ... Read more

A hard NO! This storage company, headquartered in Rochester, tampered with the ceiling above our unit in Albert Lea and water damaged our antique furniture. They are claiming the tile was missing BEFORE we moved in and that we were encouraged to inspect the unit carefully before moving in. This was not the case. See for yourself--ceiling debris and water damage in photos. The first words to me after making the company aware of the damage was, "what would you like us to do about it?" It was I who had to request another unit. Were I the owner of this company, I would have bent over backwards to offer help, another unit, etc. The repair to my antique furniture was $800 and the company offered a few months free rent IF I were to take down a negative post. A credible company would have paid in full, just as we have done month after month for storage. To top it off, the unit we vacated was "inspected" after we moved, and supposedly no evidence of leaking was found, despite clear evidence from my photos and stains on the floor. I have called the main office, tried several times to speak to the manager (was told she was not available) and even drove an hour to the main office to speak personally with the manager. So I find it nearly comical that a response from the management team includes the following: "We encourage open communication and invite you to reach out directly if you have further concerns or documentation to share." ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Midwest Indoor Storage - 3470 NW 55th Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Elevators, First Floor Access and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Midwest Indoor Storage - 3470 NW 55th Street start from $56 and can go up to $299 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
