Gosh, moving, divorce, crazy immediate need for all one’s “stuff!!” Uff.....I think we have all been there before. Looking for a place to store what was left of belongings became such a tough decision and resulted in an unfortunate move in haste. But then I saw Stephan’s Storage and thought I would give them a try. They were close, had immediate availability, and seemed cost reasonable. But mostly, the person I spoke with was kind, helpful and alleviated my initial concerns about finding a safe place for my “stuff” — my treasure. What I did have left was personal and important to me and I was very concerned about leaving it behind as I was move far away. I remember the day I moved in. It was -9 degrees in the winter, sometime near Christmas. I was cold, scared, and night fell long before I finished. I was alone and cold, but when I arrived at my storage locker I first saw it was easily accessible, clean and well lit so my fears were gone as I took to the task of unloading the truck. There were no time for sadness and tears, I just had to keep moving to stay warm. The rental truck I got from Stephan’s was so well maintained that it became my lifeboat of sorts. It kept me warm and it was so easy to move about in the back. A hand truck and soft blankets for padding kept all my things well insulated and well padded. I was surprised how warm I stayed regardless of the frigid Minnesota night. It was another thing I noticed bout Stephan’s storage on that initial move in. The truck and equipment were clean, well maintained and it seemed as if in my horrible situation the truck and the locker became an odd lifeline for me. I was so thankful for picking this place as it seemed everything I needed to work that night not only worked well, but it helped me ease through such a difficult task. It is a worn out cliche, but little things mean so much and that night the little things there at Stephan’s meant everything. I don’t know if you guys in management read these reviews, but if you do, I am here to tell you that you saved my life that cold December (I think it was December...or whatever winter month) night. I had come from such a terrible divorce, was alone, scared, and Stephan’s seemed a refuge for me. A strange night I was renewed because everything was in such good order, I was able to just concentrate on my own personal issues and then just move in. I know it seems silly but for anyone who may read this and who is needing a good storage option, Stephan’s is the place. They provided a clean, well lit location behind a properly working security gate. How often do you find that! Every time I was there, that gate was solid and worked to secure my belongings, and me personally, while I was in my locker. I am a woman, and ladies I’m here to tell you that made a big difference to actually feel secure in a properly run safe location. So while I was going through a tough time, little things like that at Stephan’s were such a welcomed relief. And that truck! Man, that really was nice. Again, how often do you get equipment that is truly clean and well maintained, so much it truly became a little life boat to me. My move in experience, was work, but my personal angst was so tempered by the very wonderful experience at Stephan’s that I was able to get everything in order, lock the unit and take the next step in my life. That was nearly five years ago! For those five years, i lived mostly in New Jersey with occasional visits to Minnesota. I had some ups and downs and sometimes I struggled. But again for those of you looking for a storage option, Stephan’s is it!. For those tough times, I worked with Stephan’s and they helped me get through them. I was able to email, use their online service through u-Haul, and get this —. I even spoke with them on the phone! Yes, I was able to actually speak with them! I rented a storage locker for a year and half and rented a moving truck from here! I always felt safe n I never worried about my stuff in the locker.. I had a lock on my door which came with the purchase of a new locker for free I believe! And it was in a gated parking lot! The code you get to choose and it always worked! Not one time did I have a problem! I choose to pay with withdrawals and one month I didn't have the money for rent n I was days late and they were flexible with me! The lockers you can choose to get insurance I choose it. The lockers are not heated, I know some people look for that other then that great man! Great time thanks again ... Read more
