Read some helpful reviews of National Storage at 35515 23 Mile Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Mr. Phil thank you for all the help. I was able to get the special discount making my first experience storing a lot more affordable than I expected. They even accepted my renters insurance proof and I did not have to pay extra insurance for the storage. When my move became so crazy that I accidentally left some items outside of my storage unit Mr. Phil found them and locked them up for safely in the office storage, notified me to get them the next time I was there. He went beyond and made a difficult move easier. ?? ... Read more

Dear Phil, charging a customer a month after they closed their unit is not only infuriating but it’s considered stealing. It’s not my fault that you didn’t check your online systems to see I closed my unit. It’s not my fault that you’re lazy and never in the office for me to close my unit. January 14th is when i moved out of my unit and you charged me February 11th. Maybe if you weren’t such an incompetent worker/manger (I really don’t care about your meaningless title) you would’ve reached out to me and confirm that, yes i did schedule a move out of my unit online and you would’ve finished it correctly on your end. Don’t ever try to put the blame on the customer when it’s 100% your fault for being unhelpful from the start. -100/10 stars. Save your money and go to a different storage lot. Phil, you’re an absolute joke to anyone working in the service industry. Give me my $100 back. ... Read more

my fiance and i thought this would be a good spot to put our stuff in before moving out into our new apartment since it was so close. the whole end process has been a nightmare. no one is ever at the facility to close the unit out with you/turn your keys in. they will keep taking your money or you will have someone like Phil tell you it’s your fault even though the website is hard navigate after making the “last” payment. do go through the hassle of using this company. we are now waiting for a district manager to call us back and to refund us. we have had our things out of the unit for well over a month now, why are we still being charged???? ... The initial price was wonderful, but before the "introductory rate" was finished, the cost nearly doubled. While I cannot prove it, it seemed like a "bait and switch" to those who are not paying attention. The local guy claimed that he did not know of the "automatic increase". I will not use them again. I will stick with local vendors. ... Read more

I just rented one of their climate controlled units and now adding another unit to the rental agreement. The prices are great, the service and attention to details even better! I had the pleasure to meet with Phil who is the property manager as well as Pete the district manager. In this confusing industry of storage rental unit… I promise you, national storage will be your first and only stop necessary. They treat you like family. And if you’re wondering, I’m not related????? ... Read more

Staff is great!! Had an issue where I lost my key to my lock and the process to get it off was reasonable and easy! Just had to let staff know on premises that I was getting it cut off or picked, and go from there. The security of your stuff is important to them and appreciate the location. Though we chose to close our unit down, which that was an easy process, we’d definitely get another unit there if needed in future ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at National Storage - 35515 23 Mile Road include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
