I bought a used Harbor-Master boat hoist with a Boss power lift on it. I wanted the power lift changed to the other side. I also wanted to buy a canopy for the hoist. With the Covid-19 shut downs they when above and beyond to get everything put together for me in a timely fashion. They made some great suggestions and took the time with me to explain things. I followed their advise and I am so glad i did. They are both very kind and great folks to deal with. ... Read more

I have over 190 reviews and this will be the first 1 star I will give a business. I dropped my Jet Ski off in September of 2018 to be stored and serviced. They quickly responded a few days later letting me know the problem I had with it. It was awesome. They said it was not a big deal and they would get it done in the spring. I felt confident I had made a great choice for the work and storage. I was wrong. I called in Mid April to let them know I would be back in the Michigan area the end of April (two weeks notice) and I would like my Jet Ski ready for a pick up with in the week of getting there. Kacy told me it should not be a problem. I checked in the first week of May and Kacy informed me they were running behind and it would be ready early the next week. I waited until the end of the next week and called them to find out about the Jet Ski. I was told it would be early next week. I then expressed my frustration that they had my Jet Ski for over 7 months now and that it was not ready and Kacy abruptly cut me off and said they do not work on equipment in the winter and had had a horrible spring and could not test anything to get it out. I said ok and that I would wait to hear from them. Another week and a half went by and they called me to say it was ready. It has been 8 months they had my Jet Ski. Here is the best part, my battery is dead on the jet ski, I am not sure it was ever tested, it wont start and I am not sure it was winterized. The kicker on the invoice it says "No warranties expressed or implied for any service or maintenance work. All work is preformed to the best of our abilities" This to me says we are not trained experts, but we try really hard. That's not good enough for me. If I had been told this in the beginning....I would not have left it there. I will not ever take my Jet Ski or any other piece of equipment to EMS. Yes, they are cold storage. Treated coldly. I have let many of my friends know this story and I will continue to recommend other places to work on equipment or even store it. Stay away from this business and you will not have the heartache of wondering when and if your equipment will be returned. I paid for winterization and got a dead battery back. It was a brand new battery. Now I have to take it somewhere else to get it running and I spent 100 bucks on it. It is a shame this happens to people. ... Read more

*long post but WORTH your read I promise* I just wanted to point out before I tell my story, the staff at EMS was very kind and personable throughout the majority of this experience; the end result just ensured i wouldn’t be coming back here. I cant even begin to tell you how frusted my boyfriend & I are at EMS. Everyone in his family lives in Canadian Lakes and have had service done here before, so of course we decided to take his jetski here. We orginally test drove & purchased the jetski on May 30. On June 2nd, we took it out for the first time at Gun Lake and thats the day it broke... we didnt even get to ride it! Having a new jetski we were very anxious to get it fixed right away in order to have it for the summer. So the following weekend we called EMS and took it up to them that Saturday morning (June 9th). He told us we’d hear back from him within a week and he would tell us the problem- a week went by & no call, so we called and he ended up giving us the problem, estimated cost, and we gave him the ok to do it. He said he would let us know when its done- 3 weeks pass.. it’s June 30th & he calls saying he got it fixed. We went and picked it up that afternoon and took it straight to the water in hopes of driving it. But NO.. it still stalled out once I gunned the throttle JUST lime before we took it in- so we took it back and told him it wasn’t fixed. He took it back and wed hear from him shortly. We were already frustrated because we lost the whole month of june with our jetski!!! My boyfriends mom decided to call and try to explain the problem better and make sure he understood because we didn’t know why it didn’t get fixed but he was trying to charge us? He thought the problem was the jetski wouldn’t start, which I’m still confused how he thought that because it always started right up.. it just shut down once you gas it hard (meaning we NEVER said it wouldn’t start, like why would we say that if we just wanted the problem to be fixed?). ALSO that means he had it for a month and the only thing he did was start it up? Not only that but he either never tried, and just put a new carburetor in because he assumed that was the problem OR he started it up but since it was there he put a new one in to get $$$ for it. Because he asked $292 when we went and picked it up June 30th when he didn’t even fix anything!!! This was just the START of it. I won’t go into such detail for the rest of the story but basically the people are HORRIBLE at communicating because we always had to call them first, and when we told them our problems, he didn’t even understand it. We ended up picking it up 2 more times after this after because he claimed it was fixed once he found the real problem, and both times still nothing was fixed. Its now OCTOBER 12th... I repeat OCTOBER!!!!?!!!???! Everyones winterizing their summer toys and we STILL have NO jetski!!!!!! Its still in his shop because we’re not paying $292 when he didn’t fix anything? Also, hes now being very rude to us. We asked if he could meet us at CL sometime and we can show him what it does but he said “I don’t have time I need your jetski out of the shop. I’m backed up on winterizing boats right now”. I was SHOCKED when he said this. Our jerski should be infront of EVERYONES since its been in there since JUNE!!!!!! We are very very frustrated at this point because I thought we were being nice by giving him so many chances. He had it from June 9th until tomorrow (October 13th) we go pick it up.. and he’s making us pay for it, fixed or not. How do they have the heart to take $300 from my boyfriend and I (we’re 22 & 20)???? -we’ve been extremely understanding with him -he didn’t fix our jetski -he had it all summer -he doesn’t have time for us now? I mean I don’t get it. I just think he doesn’t know how to fix it but won’t admit it so he doesn’t know what to do. But if thats the case I think he should’ve just told us that from the start. Now we lost a summer with the jetski & $300 for nothing. Very very disappointed in EMS. Please do NOT take your things here. :( ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at EMS Boat Storage - 9375 11 Mille Road include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
