LOVE PUBLIC Storage!! Its easy, convenient and hassle free. Plus the staff whether on call for booking or property managers are amazing and helpful. I would like to give Sonia a shoutout at Chesterfield, MI location who assisted me and was very helpful, calm and humble while I was stressed out. Definitely ask for her if visiting the store. @Public Storage she’s 1 of your best team members I would not be surprised if she moves up someday into corporate roles. Cheers & thank you! ... Sonja is the ultimate professional! I wasn’t sure what we actually needed but she was very knowledgeable in her business and after asking us a series of questions , gave us our options but was able to not only upsell us with her recommendations but coordinated our whole move in under 30 minutes!! We couldn’t have asked for better service in such a short period of time. We will be sure to recommend her! ... Read more

I visited the Public Storage in Chesterfield for a storage unit for my sister, and wanted her valuables to be in a secure area, and your employee, Sonja, made the process an inspiring delight……so professional, and pleasant. The magnitude of her customer services satisfaction is something that I have never experienced in life. Thank you, Sonja. ... Read more

Worst storage facility. I will be leaving. I'm an excellent customer, no hassle, on auto-pay, never missed a payment. However each year they raise the monthly fee by $57. They just increased my fee in August and I received a notice that it's going to go up again by another $57 in May. ... Read more

I understand limiting access hours for violations, but if you're going to leave early, inform people. Shouldn't show up at 7pm and nobody is there when end of access is at 9pm. Pretty effin ridiculous. I am homeless and need a job, and I am going to be missing a job interview tomorrow morning cuz nobody would answer the phone to let me in to get clothing. Update your hours please. ... Read more

Worse storage facility! 60.00 for a late payment after 4 days. Then many calls threatening me that they will sell my stuff at auction. It's been 4 days! Pulling my stuff. Bill also went up to 360.00 a month. Ridiculous ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 47555 Gratiot Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Keyless Unit Access, First Floor Access and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 47555 Gratiot Avenue start from $40 and can go up to $216 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
