Diana was cool, from the Byron center location, but the company itself gets 2 stars for the following reason: Excessive late fees. 35$ on a 140$ storage unit. They sent me ONE courtesy text saying “hey you’re late and going to get a fee” out of the 4 years I used their service. Every other time I either dealt with the fee or paid on time. It seems they’re TRYING to make you pay a fee. Autopay is the only way around this. Excessive price increases: Over the 4 years I had a 50% price increase. That’s 12.5% a year! That’s higher than inflation. No longer 24hr service: if you’re a night owl like me, don’t expect to be able to get in your unit past sundown. ... Read more

Hands down, greatest customer service experience with Diana. She's quick to reply and works hard to accommodate your requests often times before you make them. I have worked with Diana and National Storage for a year and rent multiple units. It's clean and well-managed and cost efficient for my projects. I highly recommend! ... Read more

I was in my storage unit for 4 years, this month to be exact. I did not have any issues or needs unmet. They took good care of my "treasures" along with some of my junk. Yes I stored things I'll end up tossing! Easy in and out. I would rent here again but hope I never have to! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at National Storage - 6240 Clyde Park Avenue SW include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
