#### Google Review for KO Storage – Smada Dr, Sanford, ME **1 Star** I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at KO Storage on Smada Drive in Sanford, Maine. My recent dealings with this facility have raised serious concerns regarding both their business practices and the condition of their property. After raising several issues with management—including a **cut security fence** that has gone unrepaired for months and being **locked out of my unit after 8pm without proper notice**—I was shocked to receive a sudden rent increase. This hike came immediately after I had a phone call with the manager to address my concerns, and after Pastor Tim Higgins came in to pay the bill for our unit, which is currently being used to help unhoused individuals keep their belongings safe. It certainly feels like this rent increase may have been **retaliatory**, which is unacceptable and potentially illegal in Maine. I have documentation and a recorded phone call, and I am prepared to escalate this situation further if not resolved. Despite repeated complaints about **poor security** and **restricted access**, nothing has improved. It seems like management does not care about the safety or fair treatment of their tenants. **If you value your property and want to be treated fairly as a customer, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for storage needs ... In my experience, KO Storage has been the most satisfactory local storage facility. Given that I lack a garage at my residence, the 10x25 unit proved to be an ideal solution for my storage needs. However, I must express a minor concern regarding the pricing displayed on the website. Initially, I was offered promotional pricing, which led me to believe that the standard rate of $89 would apply once the promotional period concluded. However, upon the fourth month, I received a letter informing me that the unit would be charged at the rate of $177 from that date forward. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at KO Self Storage - 65 Smada Drive include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Enclosed, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by KO Self Storage - 65 Smada Drive start from $34 and can go up to $196 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
