Well, got my unit over a year ago to store all be belongings from my house that I had to sell as a result of a failed relationship. Recently purchased a home and was excited to move all my things in only to notice some type of rodent had destroyed most of my furniture items along with termites and lots of moisture. You would think a place charging $230 a month for over a year would have better management of pests but they do not. Claim has already been filed with my storage insurance. Will not be recommending Extra Space Storage in the future and have already turned away some good friends who have been wanting to get storage units. ... Read more

This facility is worth every penny. Management is wonderful and accommodating and while I initially plan to be there for six months, it turned out to be 2 1/2 years. My storage unit was always safe, weatherproof and assessable. I highly recommend space Sanford. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Extra Space Storage - 1397 Main St include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Parking, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Extra Space Storage - 1397 Main St start from $18 and can go up to $141 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
