TLDR : Bad plow company make sure you won’t get stuck before you drive in as they will not help you out and their solution is to pay a tow truck to get you out. (Usually $150) I rented this storage unit and we got a small storm and it was not plowed, not a huge deal. But then we had a warm day and it all turned to slush (was very hard to drive in and should have been plowed then) and the following day it froze over and we got a large storm and it wasn’t plowed again. I drove in and my car broke through a layer of ice and got stuck in 3 inches of slush covered with 3 inches of snow. The first customer service person told me there was nothing they could do and that it HAD been looked at and decided plowing was not needed. Clearly this was not the case as even my friend with 4x4 could barely drive around. The first customer service person was entirely unhelpful and essentially told me to pound sand. I had to call a friend with a 3 ton truck to tow me out. I talked to the site manager and she was understanding of the situation and how frustrating it was and said she would contact the plow company to plow before the next day and that they only show up if it snows a certain amount. For a 24/7 storage place it should be completely plowed at all times, I cannot imagine coming after dark to grab something and getting stuck and having no way out, absolutely unacceptable. The next day I went there and they did plow it but did a really lazy job and it was still hard to drive around and I had to be very careful. I think they need to get a better plow company that will plow more often and do a better job and maybe change their policy to assist people somehow if they get stuck. ... Read more

I have been a customer at the Waterboro location since before APS owned the facility and have been very pleased with the amazing customer service. Aly has always handled any issues quickly and respectfully, but the last few days she really went above and beyond. I was having an issue with my payment method and couldn’t figure out the problem. As I was traveling, and frazzled due to flight delays (and rerouting for an elderly passenger’s medical emergency) I was not in top of it. Aly was so gracious and patient until I got home and got the issue solved. I am truly grateful for how respectful she has always been in our communications. She is definitely an asset. ... Read more

Diana was most helpful and knowledgeable. This is my first time looking into and renting a storage unit and i had attempted to complete the paperwork online but i hit a snag and got confused, which lead me to Diana and she was able to assist me through the entire process. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at All Purpose Storage - 331 Main Street include the following amenities: 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Gate, Parking, First Floor Access and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by All Purpose Storage - 331 Main Street start from $27 and can go up to $177 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
