Read some helpful reviews of Self Storage Plus at 4900 Nicholson Court, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

This place has made a big 360 woth James working, hes very respectful, straight forward, and also guided me towards a cart. Ive seen him cleaning the facility multiple times. James needs a big shout out. As long as im renting at this location i will feel comfortable with James working there. ... Read more

EDIT to add: I left this review after I had a difficult time with closing out my unit, but then I got a call from the new (District? Regional?) Manager, Ryan, who helped to resolve my problem swiftly. He explained that there had been a rough patch and communication issues, but now they are in transition after a change in leadership/maintenance of the facility, and he wanted to make things right. I appreciate his transparency ans well as his effort to resolve my problem as a renter. I wish him & everyone the best of luck for a successful future!! I had a very positive process with setup, with a kind and helpful team member who made it swift and clear. ... Read more

I've had my unit for 4 months and they decided to double my rent. I did not sign up under any promotion and I wanted to see my contract just in case there was an oversight on my part. I've called the corporate office and they were unable to look at my contract so I had to call the location. My fiancé and I both called the facility and left messages. No one called us back so I had to go to the location to see the contract. They referenced that they reserve the right to increase the rent and said they sent an email and letter out, both of which I did not receive. To double someone rent in 3 months is outrageous just because you can and very bad business. Do not get storage from this company. ... Read more

The people that are leaving high reviews probably don’t go by often enough to see that condition of the bathrooms or gave to fight to find a storage cart which seems more difficult than winning Powerball. I come from a sales, marketing, management and customer service background of more than 40 years and this place is run poorly. People hoarding carts in their units is not enforced. Every time I ask for a cart Im made to feel like Im asking for handout on a street corner and try to get boxes on to a tiny cart kept in the office which isn’t made for heavy items. Though I haven’t seen any others have told me they’ve seen rodents and the floors aren't swept often enough. Not to mention one of the doors or security gates seems to be malfunctional every few weeks. Ive also been charged $100 late fee when I was out of town for a holiday weekend and the office was closed and then another occasion when I was sick and could not pay online or on the app because after logging in I got a message that I currently didn’t have a unit which is obviously not the case and couldn’t pay on the phone since according to their system I didn’t have a unit and couldn’t get a live person on the phone. So basically Im paying alot for no customer service, no ability to pay online or on the app and the office is closed Sunday and Wednesday and I have trouble finding a cart and to use a bathroom which I try to avoid that is sometimes worse than public restrooms. There are better options in my opinion and I would not refer anyone to this place. In my opinion I should be refunded $200 in late feed based on what I just described. Rent at your own risk. I gave 1 star for location. Just to update my most recent review this is my most recent visit and the problem is not fixed regarding the broken door and here is a picture. I can only imagine how many rodents or pests or other creatures have infiltrated the facility. Someone said they heard someone had found a snake in their unit, although it was not venomous but still it is not something you want to open the door to your storage unit and see. Update as of July 20 The front gate has been broken now for over a month which means the exit gate is kept open during business hours but after the office closes one needs to have someone go in amd open the gate to drive through. Problem comes if you’re alone. Not easy to do. On top of this, the place has been filthy and I recently moved into a new unit and it was not clean. There were spiders and other insects I didn’t see in the unit that I moved from which means it was not cleaned. This is consistent with the la Throughout the facility, it has become very filthy. I believe it’s a reflection of the manager Mrs. Yvonne Who seems to have an attitude anytime you try to report a problem and has never been very helpful from my experience. I believe they have a new manager now, so hopefully things will change and go back to the way they were before she became manager. I’ve added photos of how the bathroom typically looks as well as the condition of my new storage unit. ... Read more

I chose this facility for convenience because it’s the closest one to where I live. In the beginning this place was really good, but it has gone downhill recently. A guy named Carl, who works at another location regularly, but comes here from time to time is the only one that really does his job and takes care of the place when he is here. There is a constant problem and lack of enforcement for people keeping storage carts in their units as if they own them, which makes it difficult when I show up to move heavy boxes having a broken back, and I have to carry everything carefully There are numerous occasions for the gate get stuck open for the automatic door in front get stuck and won’t open and they do a terrible job, keeping the bathroom, clean and the rest of the facility The only positive I can say is that I have not seen any rodents but as I mentioned, Carl is the only one that actually seems to care and does his job and unfortunately with the office closed two days a week the bathroom can look like a public urinal for homeless people after a few days Sad to say there are better options out there ... Edit: 3 months later, the rate is going to $65. So for those keeping score that’s a 150% increase in 17 months. The last time I was there the elevator was out of order and there were no carts available. The facility itself is nice—clean, secure, convenient. I do have a problem with the bait and switch rates. This might be the norm for the self storage industry but I don’t have extensive experience renting. We have been there just over a year and our rental has gone from $26 in October 2023 (the advertised rate and we never got the “free” month promised when we rented online so no idea what that’s even about) to $35 in March of 2024. And for 2 of those months, we paid an additional $14 for insurance we didn’t need until we sent them our homeowners certificate. Now, it is going up to $51. The same unit is advertised online as $30. So just know, your rates are going to escalate quickly. This explains how my father in law was paying about $150 for the same unit in a different nearby facility by the same company. We are exploring different options, and I guess if this is the game, we will just have to routinely move our crap around town if we want to keep using a storage unit. ... Read more

The lady manager (long hair braided in pigtails) was wonderful. Showed me a variety of sizes that were available. Explained how the storage space rentals worked. I signed the same day. The facility is very nice. Secured and gated entry so I would feel safe there by myself day or night. Cameras everywhere. Nice working elevators and covered parking pad. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Self Storage Plus - 4900 Nicholson Court include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Self Storage Plus - 4900 Nicholson Court start from $10 and can go up to $814 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
