Storage unit facility and access was clear, easy and user friendly. I never had any issues with the buildings maintenance, facility or staff (the staff members were very positive from what I can remember). I give the building and staff 5/5. However, I did move out 22 days (3 weeks) prior to my next billing date. I had already prepaid and was still charged/ not prorated for those additional days. I called and was informed they do not have an option to offer a prorated refund which may be in their policy so be mindful of that. Also, over the course of my time there (about 19 months), there were multiple increases. However once I’d call to discuss they were able to work out some changes to negotiate increases. I was not pleased with this facilities, customer service nor with their cleansing. I also did not like the way that they would raise your storage fees every three months. Last, I did not like the fact that they have mice and / or rats. I found some of my books destroyed from them bitting them. I had no food in my storage nor anything that would attract them. My husband and I rented at Extra Space on Dorsey Rd from December 2023 until June 2025. During that time, we switched between several different storage units and often moved the rental name back and forth between his and mine for our own budgeting purposes. It felt like we were in and out quite a bit compared to most customers. Through all of those moves, the one person who always stood out and made the entire process simple was Lusia. From the first time I met her, I could tell she was different. She wasn’t just doing her job—she genuinely cared about making sure we were comfortable and that everything went smoothly. Every time I walked in, she greeted me warmly, remembered who I was, and treated me like I mattered. That personal touch went such a long way, especially during times when moving in or out felt stressful. What impressed me most was her consistency. Over a year and a half, no matter how many times we moved into a new unit or switched the paperwork around, her attitude never changed. She was patient when I had questions, thorough when explaining things, and always willing to take a few extra minutes to make sure I felt confident. It’s not often you meet someone who treats every single interaction with the same level of respect and care, but Lusia did just that. The facility itself was reliable and clean, but honestly, what will stay with me long after is the service Lusia provided. She’s the reason I’d recommend this location over any other. In a world where good customer service is hard to come by, she set the bar higher than anyone I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve rented from Extra Space Storage at many different locations over the years, but none of them compared to the level of customer service I received at the Dorsey Rd location. My most recent rental was from December 2023 through June 2025, and during that time I changed units about every four months. My wife and I would switch the account between our names as a personal decision for budgeting purposes, and through all of those changes, Lusia was the constant that made the experience so positive. From the first day I met her, she made the process clear and simple. She was professional, friendly, and always willing to take the extra time to explain things so that I left with no confusion. Over a year and a half, I interacted with her many times, and she was always consistent—patient, approachable, and genuinely customer-focused. What stood out most is how much better this experience was compared to other Extra Space locations I’ve rented from. I’ve had good service in the past, but Lusia set a much higher standard.
