My complaint isn’t the actual unit or the person that runs the place, but with the bait and switch they pulled. I got a storage unit for $100, two months later it went up to $130, then 5 months later it turned to $175, and now I’m about to cancel before it goes up to $230 next month. Will it be $500 in 3 months? I can’t afford to find out. It really is a shame because the place is clean and nice. With the economy the way it is, I can’t afford these tactics. ... Read more

When I stopped in I was anxious about what I needed for my daughter's summer storage. She is a student at a nearby university and I did not know how much space she would need and the semester is nearly complete so spaces are going fast. I am so happy I stopped in and caught Harry before closing. He is not only a knowledge and helpful customer service specialist, he is a mood elevator. By the time I rented my unit, I was calm and confident about the facilities and the price. ... Read more

My rent started out of 252 a month for a 10x10 in December 2023, and my rent has been going up significantly every few months since I've arrived. In March 2025 my effective rate will be $428 a month. Might as well rent a big apartment just to store crap at that rate. I stuck through the month-plus elevator outage of 2024. Rent wasn't charged for one month due to the elevator and much complaining but it seems the algorithm has run out of mercy. This location said they can't help me with the rate increase despite being a customer in good standing. I fully expect more increases. Now i get to haul my crap to another rental chain to reset the rent price. Wonderful. Plan ahead for huge rate increases if you decide to be here in the long term. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 260 Lexington Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 230 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 260 Lexington Street start from $69 and can go up to $650 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
