I just had to give a shout out to Vanessa, the property manager of the Newton location. I met her the very first day that my boyfriend and I moved our belongings into our new storage unit, from our old storage facility- which doesn't need to be named because.. well that's beside the point! Vanessa immediately greeted us with a genuine smile, an upbeat and positive attitude, and gave us an informative introduction to CubeSmart. Everybody knows that a first impression is what sets the tone for an experience. And my first impression of Vanessa was that she was professional, welcoming, friendly, respectful, and beyond helpful. Vanessa has made renting our unit a breeze. She has answered all of our questions, provided information on things I didn’t even know I needed to know, and has been on-site to assist. We are storing our daughter’s college stuff here and the facility is so clean, well-lit, safe feeling, and easy to get to. Great experience with Vanessa and Crystal in customer support with Cube Smart in Newtonville, MA. We rented online after 6:00 pm, dropped off our storage items before 9:00 pm same day and stopped in the next day to check in with office. Our unit wasn't cleaned and we didn't have a welcome packet that night which would have been a problem if we didn't have our own lock. This is a hidden gem that I almost don’t want to share because I’m worried there will be no units left. I rented a 5 x 5 brand new, immaculate, air controlled unit to store my incoming college freshman’s things that we will move into the dorm in the fall. We live out of state and so we came a few months early and brought everything he needs and bought the rest, including a small refrigerator and microwave. We will return on dorm move-in day and move everything from storage into his dorm. So simple! This facility is close to many of the colleges in Boston and easily accessible. We plan to hang onto it and store the things again in the summer. Had a great experience here. This facility is relatively new and the units are emaculate. I had a bad experience at an ExtraSpace storage nearby and this was 10x better. Customer service was awesome and I’m glad I went into the office. The whole process took less than 15 minutes and I got to see the space before making the decision. I feel like this was the best storage place I could have gone to. The climate control here is great for storing things that could be warped/destroyed by heat or humidity. Went with a 5x10. Watch the pricing. They raised the rent by $245 within a few months. Read the contract because they give themselves permission to spike the price. The motion sensor lights are annoying as you can't stand still for more than a few seconds or they turn off so when I was trying to put some shelves together I had to constantly stop and walk 10'-15' back and forth to trip the lights on again and you can't just wave your hands- no; you have to walk back and forth. Also, your phone does not work in the structure; no calls in or out, no looking something up on your phone period.
