In May 2018, I opted to use Snow's storage on Bay Rd. I rented two units for an office relocation. I was issued a discounted rate at the beginning, which was nice. I was given one key chain with 2 keys. I figured this was for the 2 units. When moving day came, my husband and the mover discovered that the 2 keys was for just one of the units. The other unit would need a separate key. My husband called the emergency # / after hours # to get the other key, no answer. They were in between office staff and no one ever returned his call. We ended up moving some office furniture to my home garage. We needed that space in November. When I went to Snow's office in Nov, I explained the story, Amy at the front desk discovered that Ken had only given me one of the unit's key because the other one for our second unit was hanging up still. I wish I recorded that interaction. Because the furniture in my garage was heavy, I hired a moving company to MOVE stuff AGAIN into the storage unit. I talked to Ken Snow about the unnecessary move and no answer back on moving day, I had requested either a couple of months off of the storage rental or for Snow's to reimburse for the second unnecessary move, he claimed I was telling a story and did not honor either request I certainly did not appreciate being called dishonest. I do not recommend Snow's. I am sure if everything went well and I was issued the 2 keys from the beginning, there would be no issue. It is when there are issues that we can learn how local businesses operate. I did not appreciate the lack of responsibility and the lack of professionalism. A public message for others who may need storage in the future. ... Read more

Can't say enough positive things about the folks who run this facility. When I was looking for a unit last year, I came in and Beth said something might be opening up in a day or two. I left my number, but didn't really expect a follow-up (none of the other local companies I inquired with ever did call me back). Sure enough, two days later, Beth called to let me know the unit was available. I am finally totally moved out of state and had some furniture that I didn't need and didn't have a way of getting rid of. I called and got a very helpful man (I have a feeling he's the owner) who made some calls and was able to arrange to have the remaining stuff removed for me, so I didn't have to make another 4 hour drive to MA to haul it out myself. Great service, kind people, happy customer. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Snow-s Self Storage - 746 Bay Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
