Read some helpful reviews of Lighthouse Storage at 264 Highway 44 West, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I've been at lighthouse storage for years at this point. I love that I could contact them at any time and paying over the phone with the system is easy. For the main part they do keep the building clean they do keep trash out they do watch the cameras. Everytime I pay with the phone they do send an email receipt right away no issues ever. I have moved lockers about 3 times (different size/different building) each time it was simple and straight to the point which was lovely. At one point the kiosk had broken in the lobby and they did allow me for an extension until it was fixed which helped a lot. Everytime someone breaks the gate it is fixed ASAP. I have had some issues with them for example mice issues because the building is made of walls that are corrugated metal And attached to a straight strip of metal there are gaps where if you stand in the locker where the wall meets outside you can see outside of the building/sunlight. This has caused issues in the past I've had a locker completely inside no walls attached to outside but again because of this it allows mice to enter your locker and run around the building unfortunately. I have mentioned this in the past. Also I do pay for a building that temperature controlled. This obviously plays into that issue because it's not insulated so the building isn't truly temperature controlled in the summer it's hotter than outside and in the winter it is colder than outside. I have had a mattress ruined due to this issue and was asked if I had the insurance they offer I was not made aware of this when I signed up for a locker. I did get it for some time but I did end up dropped it because every year the rent goes up. I don't like that the rent goes up and these issues are not resolved. With that being said years ago I did ask if I could take care of whatever issues I had with mice on my own I was told that was okay. Another thing is if you lose or break your key on accident you cannot break your own lock also they do not have an emergency person to do that. I do wish they had trash bins/carts to move items as well. I did have a bin of food in my locker at one point (limited time chips) they were in the locker in a sealed bin where they were not touched. When I collected it I was told I broke the contract (I had no idea) when this happened I did appreciate they told me and let me correct the issue which it was getting shipped that day which is why I picked it up. The only thing I didn't appreciate was I felt scared and a bit frustrated/mad because of the way I was spoken to. I do believe respect goes both way but with that being said this is the only time in all the years I've had my things here I felt that way. Generally I do feel they are very kind it just came off more hostile than firm maybe a bad day? We are only human. With all that being said I do believe the issues that I have are 100% fixable and I continue to choose them due to dependability/location/surveillance. I don't believe my rent should have gone up about $20 (about $5 increase a year )so far because of me maintaining the mice problem myself(no more issues in my locker) I have asked for a reduction they did not agree. But I am happy to have my things stored here. If you keep your things here the only thing I advise is keep them in the big Lowe's tubs and you won't have any issues with things being ruined. I do and haven't had any issues since. I do want to add this review was posted after receiving an offer saying if I reviewed them I would receive $10 off next month which I've never been offered but do feel is really wonderful. I will be calling to confirm it is taken off thank you for reading if you made it to the end! ... Read more

If you’re looking for a place to store your stuff that won’t judge you for owning 14 Halloween inflatables and a suspicious number of throw pillows, THIS is the spot. I came in with a trunk full of chaos and left feeling like a minimalist queen. These folks don’t just give you a storage unit—they give you therapy with a roll-up door. Clean units, secure gates, cameras everywhere (like Big Brother, but comforting), and the customer service is fantastic. The cost is fair and less expensive than other places. ... Read more

One of the nicest storage units I've ever personally had. My unit is inside one of the climate controlled buildings, which is a 10/10 do recommend!! Especially if you have alot of belongings that could easily be damaged by heat, water, cold temps etc. Only negative thing I've experienced this far is the floor in my unit was FILTHY upon move in. So I personally swept and mopped inside just my unit! ... Read more

The climate control units have an awful smell inside the bulding. Everything That I had with cloth on it now smells like that building. The lights inside are motion lights so if your in your unit for a short time they go out and its dark as hell, no lighting at all except for one door window so take a flashlight or you will have to feel your way out. ... Super easy to sign up online, enroll in auto pay, and they sell reasonably priced locks in a vending machine in the office. Almost everything is automated. I love it. Unfortunately though my storage unit had garbage already inside it and a cigarette butt was on the floor for my indoor unit. If things were clean when I got there, I would give it a 5/5. ... Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Lighthouse Storage - 264 Highway 44 West start from $39 and can go up to $205 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
