*Update. I will have to file a police report for fraud against this company and possibly small claims court to get money back that was fraudulently taken from my account for services not received.* This company stole money from my account for a rental unit I didn't complete. No lease agreement, vin #, ID, insurance, or anything. Account agent Kay was extremely rude. I will have to settle things with the help of my bank. Will not recommend! ... Read more

Do not rent here! My rent was $69. They increased it to $161 (133%) without notification, in clear violation of the lease agreement. They refuse to refund me. I miss the previous owners of this facility (Best-Life). They outsource all of their customer service to overseas Indian call centers and refuse to let you speak to supervisors. RecNation is by far the worst storage company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Stay far away from this company. In response to owner's reply: I did reach out—twice. Customer service told me there was nothing they could do. When I asked for proof that notice of the rent increase had been sent and received, they promised to email me those details. It’s been over 48 hours, and no email ever arrived. This rent hike (from $69 to $161, a 133% increase) was done without proper notice, which is a clear violation of the lease agreement. Since you refuse to honor the contract, I am moving out and will be filing both a chargeback and a stop-payment with my bank. It’s disappointing to see a once-great local facility run into the ground by a large corporate operator. RecNation has destroyed what Best-Life built. The fact that all customer service is outsourced overseas, with no access to local people or supervisors, only adds insult to injury. Gary “Wojo” (Mr. Chief Camper), as the face of this company, you should be ashamed of how customers are being treated. ... Read more

I’ve had nothing but trouble with this place in the less than a year we’ve rented there. And now my unit rate went from $59 to $143. Immediately moving out. Gravel parking lot, no help when someone hits your property there(which happened to us, then had issues with Central Body which was a whole other thing), no security cameras. I suggest you go somewhere else. ... Read more

Any review prior to Oct 2022 is for the previous owners, not RecNation. Customer service has completely dried up since RecNation bought this location. It's a typical investor "optimization" that cut everything that mattered. Rent went up, customer service disappeared, mandatory insurance was added, no one answers the phone. This location also no longer has anyone onsite. There was a period of about 2 months where the gate opened was broken at least once per week and the response was "oh well, you won't be able to access your RV until it's fixed". I was double-billed this month and it took 45 minutes to reach anyone to even start fixing the error. RecNation ruined this place. ... Read more

I have been with Rec Nation RV since their Opening day. They are the third owners of the storage facility that I’ve worked with over the years years. I believe they are doing the best job, Surpassing my expectations based on personal experiences from the previous two owners, and other storage facilities that I have utilized Previous. Thank you, Rec Nation For your excellence and Great management. ... Read more

Used to rent to another facility owner that sold to this company. It has not been an adequate amount time for me to see if it’s different as of yet. However, I will state that we aren’t seeing any staff there like the old owner used to do and they have more limited hours of operation rather than the 24/7 access of before. We were told that you could in fact get access after hours, but calling to a call center in hopes of them doing what needs to be done so you can access your storage after hours seems dicey. It’s worth noting that we were erroneously billed multiple times, but they did refund us properly after calling again. There was a dollar limit that the rep could refund which required subsequent calls to rectify. Another area that seems odd to me is this obsession with getting insurance information for vehicles stored there. The reason this seems odd is that as a storage unit, I can store and should be able to store anything I want as long as it’s legal and within the contracted agreement. I should be able to keep boxed items one week and have jet skis another, and a vintage car another, and an RV and so on. Not sure what we stand to gain as renters of a storage place by providing insurance information for a rec vehicle or trailer being stored in an enclosed space. I’d like to see more consistent and timely maintenance on the gravel roads to ensure we don’t have deal with ruts and worn areas when pulling a trailer or camper through. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 250 to 540 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by RecNation RV-Boat Storage - 24105 West 43rd Street start from $140 and can go up to $216 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
