The units and building are cool and clean! Great location and access into the building is clear and unobstructed. The manager, Lexie, is very friendly and helpful and she gives excellent customer service. Plus, every time we have gone there, which has been often, she is working very hard, mopping the floors, watering the new trees and trimming, blowing off the driveway, etc. We have been in several storage facilities over the years and most have been pretty good but so far Uplift has been the very best. ... This is by far the best self-storage I've done business with. I've had a unit here since the location opened and just added my third unit this week. I've used various large corporate chain facilities in town and just thought all storage companies were disappointing until we found this one. First, the staff here is very helpful and friendly. They've consistently gone above and beyond to accommodate us and helped us save money along the way. The facility itself is very new, spotless and free from pests. I often see the staff sweeping, emptying trash cans, or walking the premises. The lighting is great and the door access control works without issue. Cameras appear to cover every angle and the climate-controlled areas maintain a consistent temperature with no humidity issues. Access is provided through multiple wide doorways with spacious elevators providing access to the upper level. The facility provides various flat moving carts that are conveniently stored just inside the doors. The loading/unloading area is well-lit and very close to the doors. Getting signed up is super easy. The paperwork process is quick and hassle-free with no hidden fees. **Pro Tip: Get your rental started by starting your rental via their website for the best price and to take advantage of their move in special. The pricing is very reasonable and a great value. A clean facility, robust security, and amazing staff--I feel like this is the best storage option in Overland Park! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at UpLift Self Storage - 12252 Metcalf Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Parking, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by UpLift Self Storage - 12252 Metcalf Avenue start from $41 and can go up to $291 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
