I was able to downsize and move to a smaller storage unit using the website. My insurance was already on my account, so I didn't have to show new proof of insurance. Terri was very proactive and double checked everything the next morning, and made sure all was in order on my account. She was also able to credit back the next month's fee for my larger unit without me having to ask. Lastly, she helped me understand the key return process so that she could also refund my key charge on my new unit. WTG Terri! Thank you! ... Read more

If you’re questioning where to go to put your things I highly recommend this particular public storage! RICK, was far beyond amazing in helping my family get where we needed to be. I was so difficult changing my reservations and he was like an angel helping get us straightened out. My husband setup an account for this location then decided we needed one in Lawrence where we were actually moving, got to Lawrence and their rates were thought the roof high! Rick was Johnny on the spot had to vacate us. Then gets a call back from me after we realize how expensive it was and had to unvacate us. Get us back into the system, Was just a mess all bad on my part. Rick also stayed in the phone with me the entire time getting me where I needed to be, he helped me figure out my lock EVERYTHING! I will never forget your kindness and one my worst days you really helped me see the light in things and I’m forever thankful rick!!! My children also thank you for mom not loosing it completely! Praying for good things to come back to you sir! ?? on top of all the help I received , I was SUPER impressed with the storage units themselves! Like wow very clean and cool I won’t worry at all about where my special belongings are held while I get our house done. ... Read more

I am very happy with Brianna who works on the Front Desk. She understood all my needs and fought for me when I had some issues when I was closing one of my Units. She is sweet and kind, polite and hard working. Congratulations to the Company, hiring this kind of people to work directly with the Public (it is not an easy job, we know). Thank you, Brianna! ... Getting the storage was easy but I’ve left a few messages and still no return call (2 weeks now). So like many storage facilities, once they have you you are no longer important. Just a collection agency I guess. ... Read more

I made a negative google review recently and within weeks, the rent on my unit was increased by $25! And this was the second increase in 6 months. Beware. Regarding the $29 administrative fee, I think this is a rip-off because it takes about 5 minutes for the manager to generate this lease and for the renter to sign it, and if you do the lease on-line, I don't there should be an admin. fee at all but there is. The rent on my unit is literally double now than what they're renting the same size to others. I think this is crazy and shows a lack of respect to me, a customer. ... Read more

These are not temperature controlled, as they advertise. It's very hot in these units in the summer and I'm sure will be cold in the winter. Be careful if you reserve a unit on-line and get a good deal that the on-site manager doesn't jack up the rental price a little when you go into the office. ... Read more

I want to start off with a shout out to Rick who helped us out with leasing out the storage unit. When we pulled up Rick was actually on his way out. But he took as much time with us, answered all of our questions, and walked us through everything we needed to know for the lease. Quick, simple, and painless. Very much appreciated. The facility itself was very well maintained and super clean. Couldn't be happier with the experience and the service provided by Rick. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 225 North Monroe Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 225 North Monroe Street start from $27 and can go up to $183 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
