Great customer service! I was contacted as I made a reservation online and was guided and walked through step by step. All my questions were answered and the woman I spoke with even checked to see what the most inexpensive options I had for my needs. Move in was made so simple and easy especially with the weather we were expected to have. ... Read more

twice this week, I have been locked in where the gate will not open for me to go out. My phone won’t work. My code doesn’t work to go. I mean there’s no code really to go out the gate so I don’t know what’s going on. I have called the desk. They’ve tried to help me. They have said they contacted the property manager. I’ve got nothing so now I’m having to go to the Internet Wright reviews and make Facebook post because the first time my anxiety was really high because I didn’t really know how I was getting out of there and then I figured it out. But to have to get out of my car, go to a gate go clock my number and go back and run to my car and drive back out is a lot. #frustrated customer ... Read more

Stored my camper here until today, last night we got an email that the monthly fee is increasing, at this secure storage lot our camper has been broken into and had items stolen, when we signed up we were told they had no break ins in the past but after our break in the office manager tells us they had unit break ins in the past from people that steal tools and other supplies. after the first break in I was told by the storage facility to purchase a 4g security camera and install it on my camper. After installing the camera it was amazing to see how many people there are just wandering around and "casing" the area. from what saw from my camera staff rarely does a property walk. To sum it up, Rv broken into, had to pay for my own security camera and 2 months later they increase rent, office is never open in the afternoon there is always a sign that says be right back No thanks, Regina I hope I have to never do business with Central Self storage again. what's real interesting your competitor across town is charging half what they are charging on my original rate before the price increase and they have more security ... This is my second time utilizing a storage unit with Central Self Storage. Both experiences have been great and having the convenience of being right down the road from my house. Rates are affordable compared to a few others around. I rented a non-climate control outside unit. For being an outside unit the inside space was nice, clean, spacious width to height, and door opening and closing was in good shape. Entering & exiting the main gate is standard with ease. Plus being able to use their storage truck was valuable, just have to pay for the fuel after usage. Overall the experience was great again. Kelly is the new Manager which she did an awesome job answering all my questions and assisting me with selecting the right unit. I would definitely recommend this place based on friendly staff, clean units, location, convenience, security, moving truck usage, and affordability. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1702 East Kansas City Road include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 250 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1702 East Kansas City Road start from $19 and can go up to $233 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
