Areas are always clean and cleared for our cars or trucks. I like that they are proactive with mouse control traps around the outside of the units. I do wish the exit code box was higher for access. The only negative is once Uplift took over my rent went from $100 to over $200. Sigh. ... Read more

They definitely get the job done and have reasonable enough rates for the amount of storage compared to everywhere else in town. They even had a pretty good deal on the first month at move-in. However the front desk agent seemed to not be prepared for us at move-in. He even had to call upper management for assistance and got hostile with them over the phone. Our unit was still locked when we went to access it for the first time and had to be helped by the owner. Storage in Lawrence is either too expensive on the whole, I'd recommend a different city nearby if you can. ... Read more

Previously when this was family owned as Ertl Self Storage I gave a 5 Star rating. Now that it's owned by a big company they've repeatedly raised the rent. I'm either on my third or fourth price increase in the short time Blue Sky has owned it. I just got an email today of yet another significant increase. I'll never use them again. ... Read more

I really try to not leave reviews as it's public and I know a comment will happen which in today's age is just uncomfortable, but I feel I have to for this business. I rented my unit prior to being bought out by Blue Sky. I was coming up on having the unit for 2 years. Since the buy out they raised my rent multiple times when it was already at market value. I pushed back in December begging them to please not raise it again after seeking to raise my rent for another time and they agreed, only to then raise it come March. This rent increase notice came a week after my storage unit (and many others) flooded due to the melting snow. I was still in the middle of cleaning up and accessing damage when I received the notice. The timing of the increase was insensitive and inappropriate given the fact that I was dealing with cleaning up my indoor, climate controlled unit that should never had flooded had they properly cared for the property and cleaned snow/ice away from the building. If you do choose to rent from them do not rent a unit in building D as you run the risk of it flooding even if you have a fully indoor unit. I would recommend not renting from them. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at UpLift Self Storage - 3707 West 6th Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by UpLift Self Storage - 3707 West 6th Street start from $87 and can go up to $281 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
