Rented from Gateway Storage in Washington for about the past year, following a household move. Getting established with them was easy and I appreciate the fact that their prices were reasonable while their facilities were nice. Never had any trouble accessing my unit, and their gate access, lighting was always in good working order, even had access to a moving cart. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a storage unit in the area. Mike L. ... Read more

The property is secure with a door code and a gate, the management was very kind and helpful any time I called or interacted. The property is very clean, and easy to get in and out of. I would recommend using this place for your storage needs. ... Read more

Had some decent specials when I first rented two units. I haven't used the climate controlled ones but the others get the job done well enough. Handled everything online and haven't had a need to even deal with a person yet, which is convenient. They recently gated it in and you use a personal pin to access the area. Though it isn't a 24 hr access storage facility so do keep that in mind. All in all, no complaints and I'd use them again. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Gateway Storage - 500 School Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
