We stored things here for a couple of months while we were moving. The staff was helpful and friendly. The facilities were easy to access and to get around. Would store here again as the need arises. ... Read more

Prices are good but the fees are OUTRAGEOUS. Even a dollar shy and you are charged an insane amount of fees, including "certified" letter fee of $25 that aren't actually aren't sent certified (which also only costs $10 at the local post office). The elderly lady is also EXTREMELY RUDE. ... Read more

The women here have a very nasty attitude. I’ve had my unit since 2015 and have never experienced such utter and blatant disrespect as I have with these two girls. I was left a voicemail saying I needed to pay a late fee immediately. I couldn’t answer the phone while I was at work. So I paid it as soon as I was able to once I got a break. I called to make sure they received it just to be told I owed another $25 because they sent out a certified letter. The lady lied and said it had to be paid before 10am. I asked if she treated all of there customers this way and she told me I could come clean out my unit. Whoever the lady is that works with Rhonda needs to be fired. She’s a horrible, disrespectful human being. I will be moving out of this unit soon. You all are a disgrace. ... Read more

I would give Discount Storage a zero if possible. This place has the rudest group of women you ever want to meet. I called to see how much I owe on my storage. The lady says it’s the same as it is every month. I was paying online and wanted to know what the fees included because I was late and there were other charges included. The lady proceeds to tell me that they have over 1,000 customers and they don’t have time to go over fees so she did not tell me. I went ahead and paid. I asked if she could tell me who the owner is or the manager. She said no I can’t and hung up on me. I called them back to ask them to please make sure my storage is unlocked because I paid online. This was the other woman who works there. It was like 20 minutes til closing. She says we always make sure before we leave so I don’t need to call. I said, I just wanted to make sure since it’s the end of the day. The workers are disrespectful, rude and have absolutely zero customer service skills. STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!! ... Read more

I can echo the frustrations of other reviewers who experienced a leak in their storage unit. I suspected prior water damage but was assured it had been fixed. Since no other units in that size were available, I made the poor decision to put thousands of dollars worth of tools in there, only for them to be leaked on. I had to pour water from my drill press, and every cast iron tool is terribly rusted. ... Read more

Amazing place to store your stuff! I currently rent a 10x10 unit that is very clean and well maintained, I use it to store little things I could no longer keep in my garage at home. I just recently rented a CC unit as well which is absolutely perfect for storing my computers and important materials that I don’t want to get damaged by in climate weather. Customer service and people at front office are very nice, got to speak to one of the owners who was a very nice lady. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Discount Storage - 1091 East 1st Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 81 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Discount Storage - 1091 East 1st Street start from $57 and can go up to $105 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
