Had a problem signing up online for a new large unit and did not get the first month free as promoted - apparently a software/website problem. The only person who could fix the issue was off that day from work. The store manager was courteous, professional, and spent over an hour trying to help me but was hindered by the fact that only his supervisor could fix it. Lack of access to the bathroom when office is closed is also an issue that could be fixed especially for lengthy move ins by erecting a wall enclosure. Additional personal need to be hired to float and cover when there are days off or illness. The facility is clean with indoor load off bays and helpful and friendly managers when they are there. Nice place but have to complain. For the last few days, My fiance could not get into the facility to get his tools/ materials for work due to this crane & trucks obstructing the entrance into the facility. Apparently they are replacing the overhead cubesmart sign. This is becoming a huge headache & inconvenience not just for my fiance, but to every storage unit renter trying to get into their units. My fiance's tools/materials are very heavy & he was forced to have to walk all the way inside & make multiple trips just to get what he needed so he could get to work. Also, he used to have a working light inside his storage. We see all the other units have functional lights but for some reason, the power to his unit was shut off by management. It makes it rather difficult for him when he comes early in the morning/ returns late at night. He can't see anything. It's crazy how they charge a low rate for the first year & then every so often after that they jack up the prices. He pays enough every month to rent at CUBESMART, is it that much to ask to let him have access to his unit or power to the light in his unit that everyone else has access to except for him?? **A LITTLE HEADS UP OR NOTICE REGARDING THE CRANE AND/OR WORK BEING DONE NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE FACILITY WOULD HAVE BEEN A NICE GESTURE TO ALL THE PEOPLE RENTING THERE SO THEY COULD HAVE NOTICE IN ADVANCE OF THIS.***SOME PEOPLE STORE SEMIS AND VEHICLES INSIDE YOUR FACILITY. Nick was extremely helpful & clear about how to access the loading dock, my unit, etc. I had a bad experience at another facility in the area as it was filthy & no employee is ever on site as everything is handled remotely. I was so pleased to find that CubeSmart not only is immaculate, but a live person (Nick) is on the premises & very willing to answer questions. There are some businesses that truly cannot give appropriate service/support without having someone physically there. This place used to be an "Extra Space Storage" when I started renting my space. Back then I had close to no issues with them. Out of nowhere it changed to CubeSmart Self Storage. I wasn't aware of the change until I received the bill!!! Not a single email or letter was sent out to say it was changing owners. On top of that, my 24 hour access was terminated. Now THAT is an issue. I need 24 hour access due to mu work schedule. Again, I wasn't notified of the 24 hr access being terminated either. Had to go store items at my family's garage AT ONE AM because of that! One of the exit doors WONT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE hence having to walk around the inside of the building to be able to exit. My unit is close to said door to make exiting simpler.... I've tried calling a few times with no luck. Unless these issues are resolved, I feel ill be forced to look elsewhere for storage. It's a shame since it's a nice new building and always maintained; which is why I'm giving it 2 stars.
