Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 880 East Roosevelt Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Let me share my Public Storage learning experience. Like many people, I downsized from a house to a condo and needed a small storage unit for a few extra items. After comparing several options, Public Storage seemed to have the best deal — about $40 per month. I visited the location, spoke with the manager, and signed up. The “contract process” was simple. You’re handed a digital signing pad with a dotted line, and the person behind the desk says something along the lines of “Just sign here and you’re all set.” Most people trust the employee sitting across from them and move on with their day. Few people stand there reading a 10-page contract with fine print while others are waiting behind them. So you sign, move your belongings into the unit, and think the problem is solved. A couple of months later the rent increases. Then it increases again. Eventually the $40 unit becomes $101 per month. Naturally, I called to ask about it. The explanation was simple: “It’s in the contract. We can raise the rent whenever we want.” Technically true. But what makes the system interesting is that by the time the increases start, your belongings are already inside the unit. Moving everything again means renting a truck, taking time off work, and starting the process all over again somewhere else. Most working people simply don’t have time for that. So many customers stay. At one point a corporate representative even called after seeing my review online and said they would credit the difference. Unfortunately, that credit never appeared. After several conversations and billing confusion, I realized something important about the storage industry: The introductory price is not the real price. It’s just the beginning. If you’re considering Public Storage, just understand the system before you move your belongings in. It may save you some surprises later. ... Read more

With the expectation that Barb becomes a permanent manager for this location and maintains the facility better and cleaner, I give 5 stars. The other day, I stopped by this location and came across Barb. She told me that she would be here for most of this month. I hope she becomes a permanent manager for this location, not just for this month. I have used this location since when it was brand new. It has been only a few years, but the facility became quite dirty. The restroom was dirty. The restroom floor became so dirty that it looked like it was never cleaned since the facility was open. The dock was dirty most of times. The elevators were dirty. The corridors were dirty. One thing that I don’t understand is that there is no waste bin in the restroom. I was told that it was the company policy. Without a waste bin, things are thrown on the floor - - even diapers, bloody tampons, etc. The other serious problem of this location was that the office was often locked. Customers were looking into the locked office window with frustration. This location is a big facility. It needs a full time manager, perhaps with one additional person, all the time. I have seen Barb in other Public Storage locations near by. She was helpful, attentive, and efficient. She has a good customer service skill; and she actually enjoys the interaction with customers. This facility needs a capable and conscientious manager, like Barb. I hope the facility and the service to be improved. ... Read more

A Positive Turnaround – Great Customer Service from Megan I originally had a challenging experience at this Public Storage location, but I’m happy to say that it was completely turned around thanks to Megan, the property owner. After posting my review, Megan reached out to me personally, and her kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern for my situation made all the difference. She was incredibly apologetic about what had happened and immediately helped me resolve the issues, including guiding me through the process of removing the unnecessary insurance through the app. Her friendly demeanor and proactive approach to fixing things showed me that she truly cares about her customers and their satisfaction. Everyone makes mistakes, but what sets a business apart is how they handle them. Megan went above and beyond to address my concerns, and it’s clear she’s committed to providing excellent service and ensuring her customers are happy. If you’re looking for a storage facility, I’d recommend giving this place a chance. With someone like Megan leading the way, you can trust that you’ll be taken care of. Thank you, Megan, for your efforts to make things right—it’s greatly appreciated! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 880 East Roosevelt Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Parking, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 880 East Roosevelt Road start from $30 and can go up to $438 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
