Read some helpful reviews of Storage Rentals of America at 12447 US Hwy 40, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Misty was very helpful and great to work with. She was knowledgeable at her job and very helpful helping us meet our needs. We have done business at this location before but much better experience this time. Units are clean and in a gated area. ... Read more

Experience with Red Dot was horrible. I would leave 0 stars if it was an option. The unit I paid for was 5’x10’ but on arrival the unit appeared to be a 5’x5’ (actually measured out to 5.5’x6.5’). I contacted their customer service because as usual there was no one on site to speak to. The phone number for customer service appeared as if it was a local line but in turn it was a 1-800 call center. The lady on the phone said it was labeled as a 5’x10’ but all measurements were approximated. She tired to help get me into another unit. I tired about 10 units. 7 of them I could not get open because they were so rusted shut. The other 3 units I could get open were also labeled as a 5’x10’ but were really 5’x5’ units. One of the doors was completely off the tracks. The units I could get into had dead birds and mice in them. Some of the units didn’t even have dividers so the unit next to you could be accessed by the other renter. Overall would not recommend these units to anyone. There are much better storage units that will take your money. ... Read more

I hadn’t been to my unit in months. I went on Friday 1/7/23 and a red overlock had been placed on my unit for no reason. After many many calls and extremely long hold times they tell me there shouldn’t be a lock on my unit but the only thing they can do is have the supervisor unlock it on 1/10/23 at 1 pm and I can meet him there if I like. I call at 2:17 to confirm the lock had been removed….. no, it hadn’t. So long story short, they placed a lock on my unit for no reason then made me wait multiple days to get it removed then the supervisor didn’t even show up when he was supposed to. As of right now 3:31 I’m still waiting for it to be removed. ... Read more

Although I really like the concept and ease of service of this place, there were a number of bugs in the process. I had stopped by previously to plan my process because when I moved yesterday, I was on a tight timeframe to get my U-Haul back on time. But when I got there, they were out of locks in the lock machine, so I was forced to leave my stall unlocked until I could get back into town that night. I also was never texted the code for the gate and my stall number as I had been indicated would happen, but luckily it emailed it to me in the lease. Then my stall turned out to be broken and I had to call their support number and get re-asssigned to a new stall, which also took extra time. So overall I am still happy with the service, but they could use a bit of effort to make the process go smoother and fix the issues. ... Read more

Not worth the hassle. Website is misleading on billing. I would say it's just me for misunderstanding it, but when I drove in to my unit, I counted move than 2 dozen manager locks that were not on units a few days prior. Had to call five times to cancel my unit after emptying it. Red Dot tried to charge me for the month after moving out and late fee. In addition, they either rented the unit out to someone else or someone took advantage of an unattended unit and moved in since it took them a full month to check the unit. Lastly they attempted to get me to sign legal papers claiming I was abandoning ownership of the contents of the unit and allowing them to dispose of them, conveniently worded that I took full responsibility for any legal repercussions for the disposal should they be sued by anyone for disposing their goods. Will not do business with Red Dot again. I question the validity of reviews considering they're all 5 stars or 1 star. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Storage Rentals of America - 12447 US Hwy 40 include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location, Kiosk Available, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 360 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Storage Rentals of America - 12447 US Hwy 40 start from $20 and can go up to $156 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
