Edit to add: See the indifferent response from the owner and decide for yourself if you still want to be a customer with iStorage. ---------- There's a reason why this iStorage has the lowest rating out of all the storage companies in the area. I rented a unit specifically to store my car because I had a personal crisis and needed to leave the country. I was assigned a unit with a latch that didn't work. No employee was onsite in the office even though it was business hours. I called customer service and the representative who I spoke with said that he couldn't come out to help me without permission from the area manager Aracely. He reached out to her but did not hear back. He ended up reassigning me to a different unit that was not cleaned out. I had to clean it out, and while doing so, I noticed that it didn't have a power outlet for a trickle charger for my car like the first unit I was assigned to had. So I called in again to request that the latch on the original unit that I was assigned to be fixed. ***The representative said that it takes them 72 hours to fix any problems because they have to call their people in Michigan to come out to fix the latch. You have to be kidding me, right? iStorage hires people from Michigan to come out to Illinois to fix a latch on their storage unit?*** Anyway, this was now five days since I rented the storage unit but the area manager wasn't getting back to me. I ended up canceling my rental and requested for a refund, to which I was denied. I later received a notification from iStorage that my unit was recalled. If the area manager is not going to refund me the first month's rent, then I will happily rent the unit empty until the last day of the first month's rent that I am having to pay for. This is appalling customer service and fraud. In any case, I will be filing a fraud complaint with the Illinois General Attorney office. Other storage companies in the area like CubeSmart, Extra Space Storage, and US Storage had far better customer service, representatives who actually had answers, and managers who called me back within the same day even on the weekend. Like I said, there's a reason why iStorage has the lowest rating in the area. ... Read more

They have awesome prices, a mad clean facility, and the new manager, Cory, is an absolute charm to work with! From the moment I walked in, the service was top-tier, and Cory went above and beyond to make sure I found the perfect solution for my storage needs. The entire process was smooth unlike most other places, and I truly appreciate the attention to detail he had. Highly recommend this facility for anyone looking for reliable storage options! ... Cory has been a breath of fresh air throughout the stress of having to move constantly and then to having to store items while looking for another place. He’s so sweet and is super helpful. We’ve rented here for a long time and I have never met someone like him. It is truly an honor to have someone who honestly cares and is willing to answer a multitude of questions. So thank you so very much to that young gentleman. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at iStorage - 1505 Old Deerfield Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by iStorage - 1505 Old Deerfield Road start from $27 and can go up to $564 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
