I'll start by saying that the staff have never been the problem, and they are not to blame for this review... Over the past 3+ years my monthly rate has risen by over 50% and there's been nothing concerning my specific unit, the building itself, or it's features to warrant such a drastic increase. There have been ZERO upgrades. There is CONSTANTLY an elevator out of order, and usually it's the good one. The one that ISN'T 100yds away from the only entrance or flanked by narrow halls and annoying offset doglegs to make certain you scrape or dent your stuff. When I finally get to my unit, I constantly have to be alert for chunks of ceiling that could fall as the whole floor above me rots away. The roof of each unit is open, so the pieces have nothing to stop them, and new debris greets me every time I open the door. I'm not being petty, it will definitely collapse if it's not repaired soon, and it could be catastrophic. My petty gripes are the chains over the dumpsters, with the "no dumping" signs. For the price I'm paying I should be allowed to throw away the occasional piece of obsolete technology, artificial Christmas tree, or outdated cabinet. Also didn't care for the bathroom being closed for two months, just to remove the paper towels and replace them with a hand dryer. I'm sure corporate will blame it on inflation, but it'll be DOUBLE the price I initially AGREED to by next year, and the seemingly scheduled rises seem arbitrary in price and frankly a bit predatory when you think about it. If the wrong elevator breaks, it'd take a week to vacate the place. The pictures/video don't do the impending roof collapse justice. Not only is it structurally flawed, the ductwork has leaked enough biohazardous condensation to literally rot it away. Moving sucks, and these places are ALL overpriced, but you will NEVER get your money's worth here. Once again I want to reiterate that the staff at this location are pleasant enough and they do what they can, but this building should be gutted and repurposed ASAP. ****Update... Less than 12hrs after I posted this review, I was emailed that my rate would be reduced, per my request. Cute, but I never requested that. So, my take away is that they're quite responsive to negative feedback. Sorry though, too little, too late... Still not renewing, and the place is still a liability for any who enter. I COULD add a 3rd star, but nope... I don't want to be bought off, I wanted to never be RIPPED OFF in the first place. Do Better. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 4430 North Clark Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 153 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 4430 North Clark Street start from $140 and can go up to $383 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
