Here’s a Google review you could write for Public Storage, highlighting Jim’s excellent service: --- **?????????? 5/5 – Outstanding Service from Jim!** I recently rented a unit at Public Storage and had an amazing experience thanks to Jim! He was incredibly helpful, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure I found the perfect storage solution for my needs. Jim answered all my questions patiently, provided great recommendations, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. The facility itself is clean, secure, and well-maintained, but it was Jim’s excellent customer service that really stood out. If you’re looking for storage, ask for Jim—he’s the best! ... Read more

I was a customer for many years. Jim Sweeney, Manager, was super easy to work with and an all around good person. The site was always clean, payments were easy and access to my property storage was smooth both in and out. If you need to store anything, short or long term, Jim will take care of you with top notch service. ... Read more

The manager Jim located in Bolingbrook on Historic Route 66 is an outstanding manager. He assisted and accommodated me with all of my needs. He returned my calls promptly, kept me updated on my reservation, and walked me through the storage facility with a history tutorial on Public Storage. Everthing that I wanted, he assured my access and satisfaction. Thanks Jim. You’re one of the best! ... Read more

Not happy with them at all. It’s not a secure facility and your items are exposed to rodents, dust, leaves, rain and snow because the doors do not reach the ground. Someone was using my code for access. We changed it and now the app doesn’t work for me at all. People tailgate to gain access to the storage area and there isn’t anything you can do about it. The gate stays open way too long. There are not enough cameras to see the lanes of the garage style units. The guy running the facility is friendly but there isn’t much he can do to help with the issues. Update - The door on my storage unit has been fixed and it closes properly and they also added a new weather strip. It’s much better and I would just suggest that these repairs are made prior to renting the units because there are several unit with similar issues. I also learned that every unit receives a bag of rodent poison and that doesn’t necessarily mean that there are rodents on the premises. I have not seen any rodents or any other pests in my unit. Lastly, the property manager put in an IT request to help fix the gate access in my app. It’s been three weeks but I believe they are still working on it. I am happy most of my concerns are being addressed. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 300 Historic U.S. 66 Frontage start from $34 and can go up to $270 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
