Gravel and dirt. Pro rated rent to get us in but when we gave then over 25 days notice we were moving out, they said no and would not pro rate the rent to get out. We vacated and left our lock on to leave it there through our rental through 9/30/2023. They went ahead and broke off my lock and rented to someone else!! They got paid by two people for the full month of September. Quite the scam they have going. ... Read more

Beware of storing anything here!!! We had some items stored here for a few years - some of it worth alot in terms of money as well as sentimental value - and when we came to pick our things up we discovered that our unit had been broken into and some of our things had been stolen. We had originally put two locks on our unit for security reasons. Both had been broken off, one was completely missing and the other broken and just hanging open. Nobody ever notified us that our unit had been broken into and to add insult to injury, our unit door must have been left open for who knows how long, because everything was covered in about an inch of dust. The only response I received from the owner was "why did you put two locks on there?" An old man came over, who I think was probably the owners father, to accuse me while I was inspecting our things and he had only one response as well when I complained about the massive amount of dust on everything: "Looks about like my house! What an unfeeling and idiotic response. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!!! HORRIBLE place! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at R-D Storage - 5456 SE 4th Avenue include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
